IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In many countries, primary and secondary schools close for two months or more in the summer holidays.
What is the value of long school holidays?
What are the arguments in favour of shorter school holidays?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the summer primary and secondary schools give holidays to students for two months and more in most of the countries.
In several countries primary and secondary are schools are closed for atleast two or more months in summer because of hot weather. Mostly people think that this is good for both students and teachers because in summer both teachers and students feel lazy and tired in classrooms so study is effected. Also many students have many infections due to hot weather.
Also the students in sports field in schools face to many problems like sickness and dehydration due to hot winds.
On the other hand, many peoples belive that two months holidays is not good for students because students mindset for study is changed after two months of holidays they can't get same speed and focus on study as they are before holidays.Also most of students sleeping cycle was changed due to holidays so students face wake up problems.Also sports students diet and daily exercise routien is also effected due to long holidays so the students feel lazy and take time to be good in sports again. Mostly students argue there parents for going school daily students nature is also effected because of long holidays. So this is few arguments in favour of shorter school holidays.
In conclusion, most of people in my country thinks long holidays is good for both students and teachers but there are also a small number of people who thinks that long holidays effect students study, physical and mental health
