Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the value of long holidays and the arguments for shorter ones, but the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. While you mention refreshment and skill development, these points lack sufficient extension or detailed support. For instance, the transition into online learning and your personal example about your cousin are brief and do not fully illustrate the broader value of long holidays. Similarly, the arguments for shorter breaks touch on parental routines and financial concerns, but these are generalized and lack clear elaboration. To reach a higher level, you should ensure every main idea is fully explored with detailed explanations and relevant, well-integrated examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some organization, attempting to group ideas about the value of holidays and shorter breaks into separate paragraphs, but there is a lack of clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'and', 'due to', and abrupt transitional phrases like 'Conversely Shorter holidays is...'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal paragraph flow is occasionally disjointed, making it harder for the reader to follow a smooth logical path. To improve, you need to use a wider and more accurate range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph builds logically upon the previous one with clear referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
Your vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate to communicate your basic points about school holidays. You make noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as 'utilizes to develop', 'out door', 'learningof', 'fruitfull', and 'well stable family'. These errors occasionally cause some difficulty or hesitation for the reader. While you attempt some less common vocabulary items like 'refreshment period' and 'advancement of the technology', inaccuracies in how they are used prevent a higher score. To progress, focus on learning correct word partnerships, improving spelling, and using precise academic vocabulary without awkward phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing relies on a limited range of sentence structures, and your attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause difficulty for the reader, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Weather is one of the crucial factor', 'Shorter holidays is a beneficial'), missing or incorrect articles ('in summer holiday'), and awkward prepositional phrases ('stay at home or involiving in other issues'). Punctuation around sentences and spaces is also occasionally erratic. To achieve a stronger score, you need to demonstrate better control over basic sentence patterns, ensure accurate verb forms and agreement, and reduce the frequency of grammatical errors.
