Student answer (Band 5.0)
Most of the countries, primary and secondary school close for two months or more then two months in the summer holidays. It has number of advantages and disadvantages. The examiner will examine the value of long term school holidays and the arguments in the favour of shorter school holidays.
In summer, temperature is rise and the result temperature touch 45 to 47 degree. In this season the chance of dehydration is very high that is way, government decide to school close for 2 or 3 month for children and announce to stay at home and doing homework properly. For intense, a class have 50 students. when all the students studying in the same place in this season it has very difficult for the childrens health. Because temperature is already increase and the other hand come together in the same place, it is very risk full to stay at the same place. Due to this situation, government do not take the risk and announce to school off and give the summer camp homework to every student.
Contrast, long term holiday has some disadvantages. One of the major disadvantages is children waste their time in social media, online games, movies as well as dramas and other things. State announce school vocation due to the high temperature but children do not follow the instruction and spend most time in ground to play different different games.
Authority should update these scheme they apply strict rules like weekly online test system and summer camp twice in the weekend. In this way, children may take serious study and not waste their time in useless activities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the value of long school holidays and arguments for shorter ones, but it does so in a limited and under-developed manner. For instance, the discussion on weather and health is repetitive and lacks broader societal context, while the points regarding students wasting time on social media remain superficial. The student attempts to present a position, but the ideas are not sufficiently extended or supported with well-developed examples. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to explore each viewpoint in greater depth, offering clearer explanations and fully supported arguments rather than brief, repetitive assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has some overall organisation, but it lacks a clear progression throughout the text. Paragraphing is attempted, with distinct sections for the introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding recommendation, but the division of ideas feels abrupt. Cohesive devices are basic, repetitive, and occasionally inaccurate, such as using 'Contrast' incorrectly to introduce the opposing view. Referencing can also be confusing, as pronoun use is sometimes unclear. To improve, the writer should ensure smoother transitions between sentences and paragraphs, use a wider and more accurate range of linking words, and structure each paragraph around a single, clearly developed central theme with logical progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer relies on basic and repetitive words, and there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and collocation, such as 'temperature is rise', 'risk full', and 'school vocation'. Spelling errors also appear, such as 'way' instead of 'why' and 'different different'. These lexical inadequacies sometimes cause strain and difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher score, the writer must expand their vocabulary range, incorporate less common lexical items accurately, and pay closer attention to natural word combinations, correct word forms, and exact spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a very limited range of sentence structures, with frequent attempts at complex sentences resulting in faulty grammar. There are numerous errors in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions within grammatical patterns, such as 'government decide to school close', 'childrens health', and 'spend most time in ground'. These frequent errors frequently impede communication and cause difficulty for the reader. To reach the next level, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over basic grammatical structures, reduce the density of errors, and use a wider mix of accurate simple and complex sentence forms.
