Student answer (Band 5.0)
Primary and secondary schools are early educational institutions where students are provided early education. In many countries these institutions are closed for two months due to summer season break from July to August. The purpose behind closing the schools are prevent students from severe heat seasons during this time period. Teachers assingned home work to students which they are bound to do during summer break and will be checked by the teacher after reopening the schools. Stusents are given holidays to stay at home protect their health and do work at home from online sources as well. They can assist from online sources such as Youtube, Chatgpt and Gemini as well. There is a wide spread belief that mostly students waste this precious summer time period in playing sports and ildulge in different other dirty activities. This break is meant to be prevent children from severe heat season because their health can deteriorate from heat strokes. I reckon shorter school holidays should be considered because longer break pose significant threat to their study. In improvished socities people do not pay attention over their children and they work in factories and mills to earn money and support faimilies. These childrens are manipluted and less munerated compare to older workers. So, governments should diminsh two months to one or make suitable time period. when I was studied in school I remember many students left school after summer break. The reason was the went to factories and mills and never came back to schools and enrolled in classes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the value of long summer holidays and arguments in favour of shorter breaks, but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, while you mention that breaks prevent children from severe heat strokes and allow them to use online sources like YouTube and ChatGPT, these points are not fully expanded with clear reasoning or concrete examples. Your position is partially visible when you state, 'I reckon shorter school holidays should be considered,' yet the supporting arguments drift into tangential issues, such as child labour in impoverished societies. To reach a higher standard, you need to extend each main point with detailed explanations and well-focused examples directly related to the educational and developmental impacts of holiday lengths.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is some basic organisation in your response, but it lacks a clear overall progression and cohesive structure. The essay is presented as a single large paragraph without appropriate stanza breaks to separate the introduction, body arguments, and conclusion, which makes the text difficult to follow. Furthermore, cohesive devices are largely missing or inadequate, and referencing is sometimes unclear, such as abruptly shifting from discussing online learning tools to talking about child labour and personal anecdotes without transitional phrases. To improve Coherence and Cohesion, you must use clear paragraphing and employ a wider range of appropriate cohesive links to guide the reader logically through your arguments.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your lexical range is limited, though minimally adequate for expressing basic ideas. You attempt some less common vocabulary, such as 'deteriorate', 'improvised' (meant to be impoverished), and 'manipluted' (manipulated), but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. For example, phrases like 'dirty activities' and 'munerated compare to' show a lack of precision and awkward collocation. To achieve a higher score, you should focus on expanding your vocabulary with accurate collocations and ensuring correct word forms and spelling throughout your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in verb forms, articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'The purpose behind closing the schools are prevent', 'teachers assingned home work', and 'when I was studied in school'. These frequent errors require the reader to slow down and can cause difficulty in fully understanding your intended meaning. To improve this criterion, you should work on building error-free complex sentences and carefully checking basic grammatical patterns, tense consistency, and punctuation before finalising your essay.
