Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often argue that schools may or may not have a long holidays. Some people are in favour of long summar vactions and some thought that shorter school holidays have more value. In this essay, both opinion will be discussed.

On the one hand, long term holidays provide an extra time for to learn more, explore different parts of world and meet with knit relationships. For instance, people usually travel towards Natural landscapes in summar like, in mountains area i.e. in Muree, Naran Kagan and Sawat, and some also explore by travelling to other countries. It helps people to explore variety of cultures and traditional things like food, dresses and handimade things.

On the other hand, shorter summar hollidays helps a person to feel relax as there is no burden of summar pack and as childern always cause troubles for their parents when they are free at home, these help them to live in peaceful environment as childern will go to school after a very short period of time. For example, parents feel happy and free when they do not have any kind of pressure to must done a lot of work in specific time. They can easily enjoy few days of leisure by going to a short trip.

In conclusion, both long and short school holidays have benefits and drawbacks. Long term holidays often make a childern lazy, distract them from studies and have a burden of homework. Additionally, short term holidays may be harmful for the childern in summar, as the weather is extermely hot and its compulsory to get a rid from daily school routine.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both questions and presents relevant points: long holidays can allow travel and cultural exploration, while shorter breaks may give parents relief from managing children at home. However, the discussion is only partial and the position is not consistently clear. The opening says both opinions will be discussed, but the body does not clearly explain the educational or personal value of a long break, and the case for shorter holidays focuses mainly on parents rather than students or schooling. The conclusion introduces drawbacks—children becoming lazy and hot weather making school difficult—without developing these points earlier. To strengthen the response, explain each argument more fully and make the relationship between your examples and the value of each holiday length explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first moves from learning to travel and cultural experiences without explaining the learning point, while the second combines children’s behaviour, parents’ workload and leisure trips. Some links are unclear, particularly “these help them to live in peaceful environment,” where the reference is difficult to identify. The conclusion also adds new claims rather than drawing together the main arguments. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to its main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some relevant vocabulary, including “explore,” “cultures,” “traditional things,” “burden” and “leisure,” so the main topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to interpret, such as “meet with knit relationships,” “summar pack” and “get a rid from daily school routine.” Spelling errors are also noticeable, including “vactions,” “hollidays,” “childern” and “extermely.” These issues reduce precision and sometimes interrupt reading. Build a reliable set of topic phrases and check spelling carefully; for example, use “strengthen family relationships,” “summer workload” and “take a break from the daily school routine.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay attempts both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional-style explanation beginning “as children always cause troubles for their parents when they are free at home.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. Examples include “It is often argue,” “both opinion will be discussed,” and “shorter summar hollidays helps”; these need forms such as “It is often argued,” “both opinions will be discussed,” and “shorter summer holidays help.” The sentence beginning “For example, parents feel happy and free…” also contains an incomplete or faulty construction around “pressure to must done.” Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add complex clauses and check subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
