Student answer (Band 5.5)
NOWADAYS, IN MANY COUNTIRES, PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTES REMAIN CLOSE FOR MORE THAN TWO MONTHS DURING SUMMER HOLIDAYS. IN MY PERSPECTIVE, THIS IS POSITIVE PHENOMENON BECAUSE LONG SCHOOL HOLIDAY GIVE SUFFICENT TIME FOR STUDENT TO STAY WITH THEIR PARENTS AND CHILDREN ALSO ENHANCE INTERPERSONAL SKILLS.
REGARDING FIRST QUESTION, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR CHILDREN ESPECIALLY PRIMARY AND SECONDORY SCHOOL STUDENTS TO SPEND ENOUGH TIME APART FROM ACEDEMIC STUDY. THIS IS BECAUSE SUMMER HOLIDAYS AND LONG SCHOOL HOLIDAY GIVE CONSIDERABLE TIME FOR STUDENT TO SPEND TIME WITH THEIR FAMILY, PARENTS AND FRIENDS. CHILDREN CAN VISIT NATURAL AND HISTORICAL DESTINATION AND RECEIVE CULTURAL AND SOCIAL KNOWLEAGE ABOUT THE PARTICULAR PLACE AND MAKE MEMORABLE MOMENTS WITH THIER LOVEABLE. FURTHERMORE, SOME STUDENTS VISIT THEIR NATIVES AND RELATIVES THROUGHOUT THE VACATION PERIOD. THEY OFTEN VISIT THEIR GRAND-PARENTS HOME AND THE TOWN WHERE THEIR FAMILY BELONGS TO. TO EXEMPLIFY, DURING SUMMER HOLIDAYS MANY FAMILIES INCLUDING HIGH-SCHOOL STUDENTS SPEND THEIR FREE TIME ON VACATIONS, BEACH HOUSES THIER VILLAGE HOMES AND VISIT NEW DESTINATION. ADDITIONALLY, BY THIS AGREEMENT CHILDREN CAN IMPROVE THEIR PRODUCTIVITY, PROBLEM SLOVING SKILLS AND SPEND ENOUGH TIME IN THIER TRAITS SUCH AS SWIMMING, SPORTS, MUSIC, DRAMA AND CINEMA.
TURNING TO THE SEOCND QUESTION, THEIR ARE MANY UNDERLYING FORCES TO SUPPORT THE SHORTER SCHOLL HOLIDAYS. THE MAIN REASON IS THAT LONG HOLIDAYS MAY DISTURB STUDENTS ACEDAMIC PROGRESS. IN OTHER WORDS, SHOARTER SCHOOL IMPROVE STUDENTS ACEDAMIC PERDOMANCE BY DEDICATION AND DAILY ROUTING. CURRENTLY, MANY SCHOOLS OFFER INTERESTING ACTIVITES FOR SCHOOL DURING SCHOOL TIME SUCH AS SPORTS ACTIVITY, ART, MUSIC AND CAREER PROGRESSIVE ACTIVITY. FOR INSTANCE, LONG HOLIDAY MAY CAUSE OF STUDENT FORGOT PREVIOUS EDUCATIONAL CONCEPT SUCH AS COMPLEX THEORY, PRACTICAL KNOWLEAGE.
IN CONCLUSION, IN THIS COMPETITIVE AND STRESSFUL ERA, SUMMER HOLIDAYS HELPS TO REDUCE EDUCATIONAL STRESS AND HELPS TO BECOME MORE PRODUCTIVE AND PROBLEM SOLVER, HOWEVER, THERE ARE SOME DRAWBACKS REGARDING THIS AGREEMENT.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions and make your position clear: you see value in long holidays, while also recognising reasons to shorten them. The first part is supported with relevant examples, including family visits, travel to historical places, and time for activities such as swimming and music. The argument for shorter holidays is less fully developed: you say that long breaks may disrupt academic progress and cause students to forget concepts, but you do not explain how shorter breaks would improve learning beyond maintaining a daily routine. The conclusion mainly restates the benefits of long holidays and does not clearly weigh them against the case for shorter breaks. Develop both sides more evenly and make your final judgement explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on the value of long holidays, a paragraph on shorter holidays, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “Regarding first question” and “Turning to the second question” helps readers follow the two parts of the task. However, some links are mechanical, and the long first body paragraph moves through family time, travel, relatives, and hobbies without clearly grouping or prioritising these points. References such as “this agreement” are also unclear, and the conclusion’s “however” introduces a contrast that is not fully explained. Use clearer topic sentences, organise related examples together, and make pronoun references and transitions more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “interpersonal skills,” “cultural and social knowledge,” “academic progress,” and “problem-solving skills.” These choices show an effort to discuss education and personal development beyond basic terms. However, noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow, as in “sufficient,” “academic,” “daily routing,” and “problem solver.” Phrases such as “their loveable” and “by this agreement” are not natural in context, while “interesting activities for school during school time” is repetitive and imprecise. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships; for example, use “maintain academic progress” and “take part in extracurricular activities.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including explanations introduced by “This is because” and examples introduced by “To exemplify.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction recur and can make individual sentences hard to interpret. For example, “long school holiday give” needs a plural subject and matching verb, while “there are many underlying forces” is incorrectly formed as “their are.” The sentence beginning “For instance, long holiday may cause of student forgot” also has several problems with its verb pattern and clause structure. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and building clear cause-and-effect sentences, then proofread each sentence for articles and plural forms.
