Nowadays, summer holidays in schools has become a global debate. Some people believe that long school holidays help individuals to improve their well-being, others argue that short schools holidays encourage students to maintain their learning and avoid to forget them.

To begin with, summer schools holidays play an essential role to improve the students well-being. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both questions: it explains that long holidays can support well-being and family relationships, and that shorter breaks may help students retain learning and stay focused. The Pakistan example gives some relevant support. However, the discussion is only partially developed. The value of long holidays is clearer than the case for shorter ones, which is stated mainly as maintaining studies and avoiding forgetting. The sentence beginning “However, long holidays provide more opportunities” introduces a further benefit but does not explain how it relates to the comparison. The conclusion is incomplete (“which pro…”), so the final position is not clearly established. Develop each argument with a specific explanation and finish with a clear summary of your view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: an introduction is followed by a paragraph on long holidays, one on shorter holidays, and an attempted conclusion. “To begin with” and “On the other hand” help signal the main sections. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some links are unclear. For example, the second body paragraph moves from the benefits of shorter holidays to the advantages of long holidays with “However,” without explaining the relationship between these points. Several ideas are joined in long sentences, making their connections difficult to follow. The conclusion stops before completing its point. Use one clear focus per paragraph, connect each example directly to its claim, and ensure the final paragraph completes the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some relevant topic vocabulary, including “well-being,” “mental health,” “maintain their learning,” and “decision making skills.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the topic beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and errors in spelling, word form, and collocation are frequent enough to distract the reader: examples include “puips,” “quailty,” “vocations,” “raletive,” and “kowledge.” Phrases such as “attach with their learning” and “feel relax” are not natural ways to express the intended ideas. Aim to learn vocabulary in accurate phrases and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions for retaining knowledge, taking a break, and spending time with relatives would make the argument clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and complex sentences, including a contrast in the introduction and a relative clause in “which enable them to improve their mental health.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors affect clarity. For instance, “summer holidays in schools has become” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “They allow puips to feel relax and unwind … and spent” mixes verb forms. The sentence “Allowing individual maintain their studies” is a fragment and lacks a clear subject and correctly formed verb pattern. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and verb forms before adding clauses.
