Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and maintain a relevant comparison: the first main paragraph explains relaxation and personal development, while the second discusses learning continuity and childcare. The examples of outdoor play, hobbies, and remembering mathematics and grammar help make the points concrete. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, you say holidays build “creativity, independence and confidence” but do not show how, and the point about parents’ childcare difficulties could be linked more clearly to why shorter breaks help. Your conclusion summarises the two sides but does not clearly state which benefits you consider more important. Developing these points and giving a more definite final position would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each side of the discussion, and a conclusion. The progression from students’ wellbeing to personal development, then to academic continuity and family routines, is generally easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion,” which helps readers navigate the argument. To make the organisation more fluent, avoid relying on formulaic transitions and connect related claims more explicitly. For example, the sentence beginning “Not only this” introduces personal development abruptly, and the final sentence’s “However” does not clearly contrast with the preceding clause. Clearer links between examples and their supporting points, along with more precise referencing, would strengthen cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “mental and physical relaxation,” “personal development,” “academic performance,” and “learning routine.” These phrases show an effort to discuss the topic beyond basic terms. However, inaccurate word choice, spelling, and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “tried” appears to mean “tired,” “refresh their mid” is unclear, and “breaked the flow of learning” is not a natural expression. There are also errors such as “servals,” “pervious,” and “Lond.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. Replacing unclear phrases with familiar academic expressions will make your ideas more precise without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex structures, including “While working parents may struggle to arrange childcare” and “which helps students and as well their parents.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence formation and agreement occur across the response. For example, “schools … close … has become issue” has a subject–verb and article problem, while “a lengthy break … provide” does not match its singular subject. Some sentences are also joined or punctuated unclearly, such as the opening and the sentence beginning “For instance.” Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check articles, agreement, and punctuation. More accurate control of these basics would make your varied sentence attempts easier to read.
