Student answer (Band 5.0)
In several nations, primary and secondary institute remained close in the summer fo r two months and more than this time period. Children remaine safe in homes during higher heat waves, families can go for trip in cold areas.
One of the main reason is children stay safe in homes. If schools are remaining open and student come for study in high temperature, it cause mainy health issues. For instance, in southern Punjab temperature exceed more than 50c because of that a large number student gets fever, flue and other problems. Therefore, government issue two months holidays for schools. As a result, children and adults have more time for rest and relex their body.
Some argue in the favour of less vacation for several reasons. First, short holidays do not impact on study. Although it provide spare time to children to relex their mind and go for outing. For example, one week vacation better for teacher and student in these time they do not get lazy and use this time perfectly. Second, few holidays good for teacher, they have time to spend with their family and friends.
In conclusion, both arguments have their benefits and help children and adults to relex and stay safe at home. Furthermore, summer vacation good for children, they have summer task with them

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both questions: you explain the value of long holidays through protection from extreme heat and time to rest, and you give reasons for shorter breaks, including maintaining study habits and allowing teachers time with family. The example of temperatures in southern Punjab makes one point more concrete. However, the response is under the required 250 words, and several ideas remain brief or unclear. The value of long holidays is mostly reduced to safety and rest, while the case for shorter holidays needs fuller explanation of how shorter breaks support learning. The conclusion repeats general benefits rather than clearly weighing the two positions. Develop each argument with a clearer explanation and a relevant example to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an opening, separate paragraphs for the two sides, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “First,” “Second,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. For example, “Although it provide spare time” does not clearly connect to the claim that short holidays do not affect study, and the opening moves quickly from safety to family trips without explaining the relationship. Some linking phrases feel mechanical, and the conclusion introduces “summer task” without developing it earlier. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the argument it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “health issues,” “high temperature,” “vacation,” and “summer task,” and the reader can generally identify your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spellings are inaccurate or repetitive. Phrases such as “in the favour of less vacation,” “relex their body,” and “use this time perfectly” are not natural in this context; “flue” and “remaine” also contain spelling errors. These issues sometimes make the message harder to understand. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for discussing school breaks, learning, and wellbeing, and check spelling and collocation when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex sentence forms, including conditional and cause-and-effect structures: “If schools are remaining open…” and “because of that…”. Most ideas are still expressed through simple sentences, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “primary and secondary institute remained close” has problems with number and verb choice, while “it cause mainy health issues” does not maintain correct subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “Although it provide…” is incomplete as written. These errors can make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer sentences using conjunctions, checking that each clause has a subject and a correctly formed verb.
