Student answer (Band 5.0)
The heat in summar's is extremely scroching. So, many schools are closed more than 2 months or more in the summar. There has been considerable debate on this topic whether it has positive impact or negative impact.
A fraction of people believe that the summar vactions are neccessary for children. As they give them a break from the monotony of their hectic schedule. Moreover, some children get time to spend with their family since they have visited to many places and enhance their knowledge. These things widen their mental horizon and chlture exposure. In addition, some people use these holidays as creative weeks. Some children make many new things in their free time that is important for soceities' basic needs.
On the flip side, some people say that they are lose for students because their schools days are short. So, they get less time to learn. First and foremost, this give pressure to pupils in time of exams. As well as, they spent less time in schools and that effect their learning power and some scholars do not go to school easily as they break their inertia.
I strongly believe that there is need to working are should be long because it give time to students to spend time with their friends. So, they can do many more concreaticr activities with their classmates. Moreover, in school they enhance their many skills such as
communication, team-sprit. and leaderships and many more.
Different people have different notions regarding this statement but I have sound reasons to advocate that the shorter holidays may bring postive impact on the scholars lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses both questions by giving reasons for long holidays, such as family visits, broader cultural exposure and time for creative activities, and by presenting arguments for shorter breaks, including more learning time and less disruption to study routines. However, these points are often asserted rather than explained, and some are unclear: the claim that holidays are “lose for students because their schools days are short” does not clearly establish why shorter holidays are preferable. The final position is also inconsistent: the writer first argues that holidays “should be long,” then concludes that shorter holidays may have a positive impact. State one clear view and support each main reason with a specific explanation or example to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has separate paragraphs for the introduction, benefits, drawbacks and opinion, so the reader can identify its main sections. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “In addition” and “On the flip side” also signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because points are loosely connected or incomplete. For example, “As well as” introduces a fragment, while “First and foremost” does not lead to a clearly developed sequence. The conclusion repeats the topic but conflicts with the earlier opinion, weakening the overall progression. Use one main idea per paragraph, connect each explanation directly to that idea, and make the conclusion restate the same position established in the introduction.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer attempts vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “monotony,” “mental horizon,” “creative” and “leadership,” and uses some topic-related phrases such as “communication” and “team spirit.” This shows an effort to go beyond very basic wording. However, the range is limited and frequent spelling, word-form and collocation errors make several phrases difficult to understand, including “summar vactions,” “chlture exposure” and “concreaticr activities.” Some choices are also imprecise: “lose for students” does not clearly express the intended disadvantage. Check spelling carefully and choose familiar, accurate collocations before attempting more ambitious expressions; this will make the ideas clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some complex sentence forms, including “As they give them a break from the monotony of their hectic schedule” and clauses beginning with “since” and “because.” However, these attempts are often incomplete or faulty, and sentence patterns are mostly simple or repetitive. For instance, “As they give them a break…” is a fragment, “this give pressure to pupils” has an agreement error, and “there is need to working are should be long” is difficult to interpret because the verb structure is not controlled. Articles, plurals and punctuation also need attention. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and verb forms; accurate simple sentences should come before adding more complex clauses.
