Student answer (Band 5.5)

Most of people believe that academic institutes close for two months while some argue that schools should be open for more than two months in summer.

There are benefits argueably outweigh te drawbacks. On the one hand, many parents wants that primary and secondary school should open for more time.

If colleges stay open for loger months, it must be beneficial for children growth.Individuals have more time to spend their activities such as arts, paintings, sports, joining a music club or reading books. For instance, if adults play cricket together, they may learn several skills like team management, discipline, and problem solving. Moreover, this would be really benefical for their mental as well as phsical health.

These hobbies will help to improve their creativity and overall mental well-being.In addition, they can spent equality of time with their family and friends, that's help to make them feel relax and mitigate their anxiety after a long and boring routine.

On the other hand, some people think that academic institues should not stay close for longer period. Because this will create a bad impact on the academic performance of pupils. For example, during summer vacations most of students forget their work and responsibilities which effect the future career. Many individuals will spent most of their time on social media platforms. As a result, children may devote thier significant time to playing online games, watching drammas and movies that will become more addicted and isolated.Consequently, they will not manage their daily routine life.

In conclusion, more holidays reduce the students work pressure and make them feel refresh. However, parents should pay attention on the all activities of thier children so that they may create a balace of their hobbies and academic performance. From my perspective, if school stay close for long period of time , teachers must give a summer pack to students so that way they will attach to their study.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions by describing benefits of extended summer holidays, such as time for hobbies, family and wellbeing, and arguments for shorter breaks, including concerns about academic performance and excessive screen use. However, the response does not always make the distinction between these two sides clear: the opening says schools should be open for more time, while the first body paragraph mainly explains why children benefit from time away from school. Several points are asserted rather than fully explained, such as how holidays affect future careers. The conclusion offers a practical suggestion about a summer pack, but does not clearly weigh the value of long holidays against the case for shorter ones. Develop each argument with a clearer explanation or relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. The main ideas are generally grouped by topic, including hobbies and wellbeing in one paragraph and academic concerns in the next. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from activities to cricket, health, and family time without showing how each point connects to the argument about holiday length. Linking phrases such as “Moreover,” “In addition,” and “As a result” are used, but some links feel mechanical or do not express the relationship precisely. Make the central point of each paragraph explicit and use clearer transitions between supporting ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “academic performance,” “mental well-being,” “problem solving,” and “social media platforms.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited by repeated general words such as “time,” “children,” and “activities,” and several inaccurate forms or collocations make the writing less natural. Examples include “children growth,” “spent equality of time,” “create a bad impact,” and “summer pack.” Spelling errors such as “argueably,” “benefical,” and “thier” are also noticeable. Aim to learn vocabulary in natural phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully; more precise expressions would make your arguments clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “if,” “because,” and “so that.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “many parents wants” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “if colleges stay open for loger months, it must be beneficial” has an unclear subject and agreement. In “Because this will create a bad impact…” the dependent clause is left as a sentence fragment, and “that’s help to make them feel relax” contains errors in clause structure and verb form. Practise building complete sentences with accurate agreement, articles, and verb forms, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
