Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions by discussing why long holidays can help students relax and develop skills, and why some people favour shorter breaks because students may spend too much time on phones. Your opinion—that holidays support students’ growth—is stated in the introduction and repeated in the conclusion. However, the response only partially develops the task: the case for shorter holidays is mainly presented as a concern about distraction, without explaining how shorter breaks might improve learning or maintain study routines. The benefits of long holidays are also asserted more than explained. Develop each side with a clear reason and a specific example, and make the comparison between the two positions more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two viewpoints, your opinion, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and ideas are repeated—for example, the need for relaxation and the value of holidays appear in both the second viewpoint paragraph and the opinion paragraph. Some references are unclear, as in “it cause distraction,” where the reader must infer what “it” refers to. Group related points more tightly, use clearer references, and connect each example directly to the claim it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a basic range of topic vocabulary, including “relaxation,” “performance,” “distraction,” and “skills,” which makes the main ideas understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “modern age” and “computer skills.” However, vocabulary is limited and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors are noticeable, including “relife,” “wastage of time,” “perfomed,” and “develope a new skill.” Repetition of “important,” “students,” and “good” also limits precision. Build a bank of accurate phrases for discussing learning and holidays, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise choices would help distinguish academic benefits from leisure or personal development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a contrast structure beginning “In contrast” and a conditional example beginning “if a student learn.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “it creates” and “it also damage” do not maintain correct subject–verb agreement, while “other argue” and “students want time” have similar agreement or article problems. The sentence “They debate student is addicted in many habits” is also difficult to interpret because its clause structure is incomplete or unclear. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete clauses before adding more complex structures; then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
