Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many regions of the world generally tend to provide summer vacation for a time period which can be longer than two months.Regardless of that, many people believe that primary and secondary school-goers need longer off-times to revitalise from their monotonous schedule. There are many debates among the parents regarding longer holidays because they believe that, longer holidays tend to ruin the academic potential of their child. This essay stands with the primary view of this arguemental theory.
Admittedly, primary and secondary school-goers are tend to maintain a tight schedule for their academic purpose.Learners are always occupied with their homeworks, assignments, group tasks, class performance and many other things.Additionally, they tend to confine themselves into the shell of their classrooms.Nevertheless, students should also get the opportunity to have spare time from their busy schedule. For instance, they should visit museums, recreational parks and having them involved in some outdoor actvities or sports such as tennis, football, swimming, cricket etc.Students hardly get any moment for themselves and their physical activities. As a consequence they will not be able to perform efficiently and effectively.
From my perspective, students should be provided with longer summer off-days because sometimes,it is needed to have some leisure time to be productive and perform better at their academic life. For example,if a learner continues to perform competitive tasks through the week of their school-time,their body mechanism will start to lag.As a result, their brain will stop to generate newer ideas because of their consistent monotonous schedule. On contrary,if the same learner is provided with longer holidays through summer season, they will have the opportunity to get refreshed and they can restart their schedule in an efficient manner.Otherwise, their boring tight daily schedule will destroy their potential for continuing with their academic state.
In conclusion,I believe that, students should get out of their everyday schedule to avoid any uncertain failures and inability to generate newer ways to perform better.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
Your position is clear: you support longer summer holidays, and you give relevant reasons, including the need for rest, recreation and time away from academic pressure. Examples such as visiting museums, playing sports and a learner becoming less productive through a monotonous routine help explain the value of a break. However, the task also asks for arguments in favour of shorter holidays, and this side is only briefly introduced through parents’ concern that long breaks may harm academic potential; it is not explained or supported. Some claims about students’ performance and “destroy[ing] their potential” are broad rather than carefully developed. To address the task more fully, explain a specific benefit of shorter breaks, such as reducing learning loss, and develop both sides before reaching your conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs focused on the benefits of longer holidays, and a conclusion. Sequencing expressions such as “Additionally,” “As a consequence,” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the overall progression is limited because both body paragraphs largely repeat the case for longer holidays, while the opposing argument raised in the introduction is not developed. Some links are awkward or unclear, including “On contrary” and “Otherwise,” which does not clearly connect the preceding ideas. Paragraphing is appropriate, but clearer topic sentences and a more balanced sequence—one paragraph for each side, followed by a reasoned conclusion—would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “assignments,” “recreational parks,” “physical activities,” “productive” and “monotonous schedule.” These choices allow you to discuss school pressure and leisure, and some less common expressions show an effort to vary your language. However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “school-goers,” “off-times,” “body mechanism,” and “academic state.” Spelling errors such as “arguemental” and “actvities” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural, precise phrases rather than elaborate wording: for example, “students,” “school holidays,” “physical health,” and “academic progress.” Proofreading for spelling and checking collocations would make your meaning more fluent and reliable.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including complex clauses with “because,” “if” and “as a consequence,” and most of your main ideas remain understandable. However, errors recur in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “school-goers are tend to maintain” should be “school-goers tend to maintain,” while “they should visit museums … and having them involved” mixes incompatible structures. In “if a learner … their body mechanism,” the pronouns do not agree clearly, and “students should get out of their everyday schedule” is grammatically awkward. Punctuation and spacing around commas and full stops also need attention. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them, and check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
