Student answer (Band 4.5)

Unquestionably, every coin has its two sides and so are the people. Society's people are divided into two groups and therefore, In many countries, primary and secondary schools close for two months or more in the summer vacations. It has become a topic of debate among the two groups of people. This essay will compare and contrast both of the opinions along with my clear position which is in the favour of latter view with a sensible conclusion.

Initiating with the points supporting the first school of thought, firstly, the primary and secondary schools rules always same. For example, schools provides two months or more vacations on the summer because this is a schools rules, and every years schools announce the summer holidays on latters. The people who support this say that Secondly, students has been struggling every year for own study. This can be exemplified by the fact that students full focus on schools class and studies because students has said class lectures is very vital for good results. On top of these, students and children will has been expected when come summer vacations. For example, sudents enjoy lots of time on the summer vactions, and many students has go to traveling and visit different places. As a consequence, sometimes some countries do not provides long holidays because schools professor has been thinking long rest day impacts on studies.

Having considered the bath views, I think studies and holidays are of overriding importance for sound lives. Also, I would suggest the concerned people consider in many countries, primary and secondary schools close for two months or more in the summer holidays. first, which I believe is well based on the above reasoning I have presented that convince me to agree the first side of the topic and what I have stated this easy emphasis this point and requires no longer discussion.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response attempts to discuss both sides and states a preference, but it addresses the questions only minimally. The supposed value of long holidays is suggested through students’ need for rest and opportunities to travel, yet these points are unclear and not explained in terms of their benefits. The case for shorter holidays is barely developed: the sentence about professors thinking long breaks affect studies hints at an argument but does not explain how shorter breaks would help learning. The conclusion then contradicts the introduction by saying you agree with “the first side,” despite initially favouring the latter view. To improve, explain the value of long holidays and give a distinct, supported reason for shorter ones, then maintain one clear position throughout. Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt at an essay structure, with an introduction, a body paragraph and a concluding section, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “Having considered” show an effort to guide the reader. However, ideas are not arranged coherently: the body mixes school rules, study demands, travel and a brief point about shorter holidays without clearly separating the two sides. Several links are unclear, and the conclusion repeats the prompt rather than drawing together the discussion. The opening phrase “every coin has its two sides” also does not lead smoothly into the argument. Organise the response into distinct paragraphs for each view, use linking phrases to show how each reason supports that view, and make the conclusion follow logically from the essay.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “summer vacations,” “class lectures,” “results” and “holidays,” and attempts more formal expressions such as “overriding importance” and “sensible conclusion.” However, vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and inaccurate word choice or collocation often makes ideas difficult to understand. For example, “the first school of thought” is followed by points that do not clearly establish that view, while “schools professor” and “long rest day” are unclear expressions. Spelling errors such as “sudents,” “vactions” and “latters” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range for discussing learning, rest and school calendars, and check spelling and natural word combinations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “For example” and a concluding sentence with a relative clause. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and frequent errors sometimes obscure the intended meaning. Examples include “schools provides,” “students has been struggling,” “students will has been expected,” and “some countries do not provides,” where subject–verb agreement and verb forms are faulty. Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries also need attention; for instance, “the summer vacations” and the final sentence beginning “first” are not controlled consistently. Practise accurate present-tense statements and basic agreement first, then build longer sentences from those patterns. Use full stops to separate complete ideas and check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
