Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: the first body paragraph explains benefits such as family time, travel, hobbies and mental health, while the second gives reasons for shorter breaks, including retaining learning and helping parents manage work. These points are relevant, but they are only briefly explained and the examples are not always clear—for instance, the Pakistan travel example is difficult to follow, and the claim about remembering schoolwork needs more explanation. The conclusion also ends unfinished, so your overall position is not fully brought together. The response is 44 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop and support your ideas. Add a fuller explanation and a specific example for each side, then complete the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each side of the discussion, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of your answer. However, some links are mechanical or inaccurate, including “To extend” and “In the result,” and the ideas within paragraphs do not always progress smoothly. The example about travel is crowded into one sentence, making its relationship to the point less clear. The final sentence is incomplete, which weakens the ending. Use simpler, accurate transitions, organise each paragraph around one main point, and ensure the conclusion is a complete summary.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “mental health,” “hobbies,” “work schedules,” and “important information.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response harder to read, such as “shcools,” “helpfull,” “childern,” “soecially,” and “deficulties.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “feel relax,” “country side,” and “grand parents homes.” These errors fit a response where vocabulary is minimally adequate but not consistently controlled. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases—for example, “relax,” “the countryside,” and “visit their grandparents.” More precise wording would make your examples clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concessive opening with “Although” and an example introduced by “For example.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence structure and agreement. Examples include “primary and secondary schools offers,” “Long school holidays is,” and “shorter school holidays may also helps,” where the subject and verb do not agree. The sentence beginning “On the other hand, in shorter school holidays…” is also incorrectly formed, and the conclusion ends without a complete clause. These problems sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise building clear subject–verb–object sentences, then check agreement, articles and punctuation before submitting.
