Student answer (Band 5.0)

in many countries, primary and secondary school close for two months or more in the summer holidays.from my prespective, i think school should gave the students holidays after long period of academic pressure.

in school students have to deal with extremely pressure of studies, like they have to gave exams and assigments on time further more they have to maintain their attendance also, rather they are sick aur any emergency they have to attend the clases and cover their all calses and courses in time. For intance if some student have any kind of emergency like if they suddenly fall sick or some serious issue in home they take pressure and stress for that, on top of this they have to deal with school and college.

so, when they gave students for two months this would help them to relax and enjoy their holidays with family and friends, they make plan for their vaccation and enjoy to go where they want without any kind of stress from their school like exams or assigments.

it is very important to have holidays in which they make differnt kind of plans with family, like can go to out of country, they can go with friends. long holidays help them to extent their holidays plan and they know they have enough of time to enjoy.

but in some cases students also became dhull and leave their work stay all day in room doing no thing, only use their social media which is not good for time, students need to socialize with other and communicate with each other face to face for confidence.

in my opnion, i stronly agree with long holidays as they do not effect on students mental health andd stay healthy to tought they have time to enjoy in their holidays and all the plans which they delay finally fulfill them .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a clear preference for long holidays, and the points about recovering from academic pressure, spending time with family and friends, and making travel plans are relevant. However, the task asks both for the value of long holidays and for arguments in favour of shorter holidays. The second part is only touched on briefly: the comment that students may become “dull” and spend all day on social media is not developed into a clear case for shorter breaks. Several benefits are repeated rather than supported with specific explanation or examples, and the conclusion mainly restates your preference. To strengthen the response, explain both sides more fully and show how shorter holidays could benefit learning or routine.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable overall shape: it introduces the topic, develops reasons for long holidays, briefly acknowledges a possible drawback, and ends with your opinion. Basic linking expressions such as “further more,” “so,” and “but” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is limited because several sentences repeat the idea that holidays allow students to relax and make plans. The long opening body paragraph combines academic pressure, illness, emergencies, and attendance without clear separation, while the point about shorter holidays is embedded in the same flow. Use distinct paragraphs for the benefits of long holidays and the case for shorter ones, and connect each point with clearer explanation rather than relying mainly on simple linkers.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “academic pressure,” “attendance,” “stress,” “socialize,” and “communicate.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “face to face” and “mental health.” However, the range is limited and some wording is inaccurate or repetitive, which can make parts difficult to follow. For example, “gave the students holidays” and “extent their holidays plan” do not express the intended meanings naturally, while “dull” is unclear in this context. Spelling errors such as “assigments,” “vaccation,” and “opnion” are noticeable. Build a more precise range for discussing learning, rest, and school schedules, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example the sentence beginning “For intance if some student have any kind of emergency.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but complex sentences are often difficult to control, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “school should gave,” “they have to gave exams,” “some student have,” and “students also became,” where verb forms or agreement are incorrect. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable: several ideas run together with commas, and capitalisation is inconsistent. Practise accurate present-tense forms and subject–verb agreement, then divide long sentences into shorter units and use full stops to make each point clear.
