Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many countries, schools remain closed for two months or more during the summer holidays. Long school holiday s have several benefits for students, but shorter holidays can also be useful. In my opinion, both type of holidays have advantage.
One significant advantage is long school holidays is that student have enough time to relax and they completed their all studies. During the school year, they have to attend classes, complete homework and prepare for examinations. Therefore, a long break reduce stress and students mental health improve. Another benefit student spent a time their family and take part of the other activities such as playing swimming, song dancing others types of activity. For example, student can visit interesting places with their parents during the summer holidays, Which gives them new experiences and happy memories.
One the other hand, shorter summer holidays also have some important advantages. Firstly, students can continue their studies regularly. short holidays may help students achieves students better academic results because they spend more time in the classroom. In addition, shorter holidays help parents because some parents they always can not time provide their children so this time school always help the parent because this time teacher tech time and helped the parents. Shorter breaks can make easier for parents to manage their work and family responsibilities. For instance, student can attend school most of the year while enjoying short breaks to rest.
In conclusion, long school holidays are valuable because they allow students to relax, spend time with their families and develop new interests. However, shorter holidays can help students maintain their learning and make life easier for working parents. I believe schools should provide a balanced holiday schedule that meets both students' educational and personal needs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both questions and maintain a clear overall position: long breaks support rest and family time, while shorter breaks can sustain learning and help working parents. Relevant examples, such as visiting places with parents and attending school for most of the year, make the discussion concrete. The response therefore covers the task well, but the two sides are not equally developed. The benefits of long holidays receive several explanations, whereas the point about parents is difficult to follow and is partly repeated in the next sentence. To strengthen the response, explain more precisely how shorter breaks support learning or ease childcare arrangements, and develop each main idea with a clear reason and example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear four-paragraph structure, with separate paragraphs for the two sides and a conclusion that returns to the central comparison. Its progression is easy to follow, and signposts such as “One the other hand,” “Firstly,” and “In conclusion” help readers recognise the stages of the argument. Some linking is less controlled within sentences, however: the explanation about parents repeats “this time” and shifts between school, teachers, and parents without a clear relationship. The transition into the shorter-holiday paragraph is also slightly awkward. Use cohesive devices to show precise cause-and-effect links, and make references such as “this” or “they” clearly identify the people or ideas intended.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “examinations,” “academic results,” “responsibilities,” and “educational and personal needs.” There are also attempts to express specific benefits, such as “new experiences and happy memories.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate or unclear, including “completed their all studies,” “take part of the other activities,” and “teacher tech time.” Repetition of “students,” “holidays,” and “help” also reduces flexibility. Build a bank of natural collocations for education and family life, and check word forms and spelling so that your intended meaning is consistently clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “Therefore” and a relative clause in “which gives them new experiences.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but control of sentence structure and basic forms is inconsistent. Examples include “One significant advantage … is that student have,” “a long break reduce stress,” and “students mental health improve,” where agreement and possessive forms are not controlled. The sentence about parents is especially difficult to parse because clauses are joined without a clear grammatical structure. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, then revise complex sentences to ensure each clause has a clear subject and verb.
