Student answer (Band 5.0)

in contemporary society, school holidays on primary and secondary level has become a conssiderabel debat.it is opten argued that, in numerous international countries, elementary and high educational institution shut down for 60 days or excessive in the summer off also some belive that less leaves from shcools are more benfecial.

this eassy will examin both prespectives before explaning why i belive that short leaves and extensive break are beneficial on thier own places.

on one hand ,some individulas in many international countries argu that intermwdiate and higher sceondary schools, stop for two month or more .this is largely because extensive breaks refresh the childern mind that enhance the understanding skills regarding studies for example, when childerns are one lengthy break from eductional institutions they spent time with their parents at home .in addition they wath cartoons on tv or movies that refresh their minds. furthermore they play games at homes that help in improving mental and physical health.as a result, childerns can more passionate about their acdemic progams when they come back to schools.

on the other hand, some citizens argued that break from schools must be reduced so that learners do not forget their lessons that was given by the teachers.for instance, when educators are on short leaves, they complet thier summer pack on a time by help of parents or tutions or they do not feogwt about the rules

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify relevant benefits of long holidays, including rest, time with parents, and improved readiness to return to study, and you also introduce the case for shorter breaks: learners may forget lessons during a long absence. However, the task is only partially addressed. The shorter-holiday argument is cut off after “they do not forget about the rules,” and the value of long holidays is explained mainly through general examples rather than developed reasoning. Your position is also unclear: the introduction says both arrangements are beneficial “on their own places,” without explaining when or why. The response is 20 words below the required minimum, which contributes to the limited development. Extend both sides with specific explanations and examples, then state a clear, consistent view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph beginning “on one hand,” and a contrasting paragraph beginning “on the other hand.” These signposts help readers identify the two sides of the discussion. Within the first body paragraph, ideas also move from rest to activities and then to returning to school. However, progression is uneven: the second side ends abruptly, and the introduction promises an explanation of your view that the essay does not provide. Linking phrases such as “in addition,” “furthermore,” and “as a result” are used, but some connections are mechanical or do not clearly show how one point leads to the next. Develop the second paragraph fully and use clearer links between each reason and its consequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to education and holidays, including “extensive breaks,” “understanding skills,” “academic programs,” and “summer pack.” This shows an effort to discuss the topic beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and many spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “conssiderabel debat,” “intermwdiate,” and “benfecial.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise: “international countries” does not clearly mean “many countries,” and “more passionate about their academic programs” is not the most suitable way to describe renewed motivation. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. Reusing a smaller set of precise terms is more effective than attempting unfamiliar words inaccurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause (“This is largely because…”) and a result clause (“As a result…”). These attempts show some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors frequently make sentences difficult to follow. For example, “school holidays … has become” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “when children are one lengthy break” is missing a suitable verb construction. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and tense, as in “the children mind” and “some citizens argued.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are often unclear, particularly in the opening. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a correctly formed supporting clause, then proofread agreement, verb forms, and punctuation.
