Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, there are many country that close their primary and secondary school for two months or even more than two months in the summer holidays of every year. there are advantages and well as disadvantages of close the school for two months or even for more time. In my point of view, There are many importance of long school holidays.
In one hand, long school holidays are very important for every students. Firstly, it gives an oppertunity for students to expand time with their relatives. When a person become free from their studies, then they can easily give time to their friends and family mambers. Secondaly, during holidays there is oppertunity with every persons to become relax and enjoy their life after long time of working days or stydies. For exampe, there are many students that spoends their vication abroad, and visiting to different distanitions to enjoies the moment of there life.
On other hand, long school holidays are also approve verse for many students. Firstly, it is the way of waste of time like when school become close for long time, then the students only like to enjoy the holidays and waste their precious time for nothing. For example, during holidays no one students like to studied for hourse or half a hours without to enjoy their hobies. And secondly, long holidays is a cause of break during study and after that no one can easily give attention to their study.
In conclusion, long school holidays is very important for relaxation and enjoyment but for long time, it is only westage of time without study.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions by describing benefits such as spending time with family, relaxing and travelling, then presenting concerns about lost study time and difficulty returning to learning. Your conclusion also gives a clear preference for the value of holidays while recognising a drawback. However, the discussion is limited and some claims are not fully explained: for example, you say students “waste their precious time” but do not explore how shorter breaks might prevent this or what other arguments support shorter holidays. The opening also refers generally to advantages and disadvantages rather than establishing a precise position. Develop each side with clearer reasoning and a specific example, especially the case for shorter holidays, to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the links between ideas are not always clear. For instance, the example about travelling abroad follows the point about relaxation, but its connection to the value of a long break could be explained more explicitly. Phrases such as “In one hand” and “On other hand” are also used inaccurately, while some sentences run together without clear spacing or punctuation. Use accurate transitions and make each example clearly support the point it follows.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “relatives,” “relax,” “precious time,” and “attention to their study,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and there are frequent spelling, word-form and collocation problems that sometimes make the reader work to understand the message. Examples include “oppertunity,” “mambers,” “stydies,” “distanitions,” and “westage.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “expand time with their relatives” and “approve verse.” Build accuracy with common collocations before trying more ambitious wording: for example, say “spend time with relatives” and “have a negative effect.” Proofreading for spelling and choosing precise, familiar expressions would improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, such as “when school become close for long time, then the students…” This shows some effort to vary sentence structure, but the range remains limited and complex attempts are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur throughout: “many country that close,” “it gives an oppertunity,” and “no one students like to studied.” Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “for every students” and “long school holidays is.” These errors can make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, plural forms and verb patterns, then check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
