Student answer (Band 6.0)
Long-term vacations are becoming comman day-by-day in educational schools. In many countries undergradute students get anunnal summer holidays more than 60 days. This essay will examine the key values of long duration holidays and analyse some arguments supporting short school vacations.
One among the main values of long school holidays is that students can explore nature as they have sufficient time to travel not only domestic states but also international countries. Which supports them with knowledge on various geographical regions and culture. Furthermore, pupils can enroll into coureses of their intrest. Such as swimmimg, painting, archery and horse ridding. This helps them to gain skills for their hobbies. For instance, summer camps in India majorly focous in bulding courses which are attracted by primary students such as art and crafts. Students can enroll in it and level up their skills as they get long duration for learning.
However, short term holidays favour students in many aspects such as it helps them to get on track easily. This is beacuse long time changes in daily routine will take more time to return back in pace, whereas short time can be managed quickly. Therefore, students can get back into their routine and focous on their studies just in a giffy. Moreover, it is harder for students to remember new learnt concepts when they lack revisions. To clarfy this, if students goes on long vacations they return empty minded, while students with shorter school holidays comes in contact with books earlier; as a result memories can be quickly revised.
In conclusion, Although long term holidays have important values such as access to exploration and adequate time for hobbies, shorter school holidays helps students to get easily indulgged in academics and retain every concept in their memories.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both questions and presents a clear overall contrast: long holidays allow travel and hobby learning, while shorter breaks may help students resume routines and retain academic material. The examples of summer camps and activities such as swimming and painting make the first point more concrete. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that students return “empty minded” after long vacations is broad and would be stronger if qualified or supported with a specific explanation of how learning fades without revision. The value of long holidays could also include rest or family time, while the case for shorter breaks could be developed with a practical example. More balanced explanation would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two sides, and a conclusion that restates the contrast. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Furthermore,” “However,” and “Moreover” help show relationships between ideas. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some flexibility in linking. At times, though, cohesion is mechanical or unclear: “Which supports them” is an incomplete follow-on, and “To clarify this” introduces a claim that is not fully demonstrated. Some references, such as “it” in the summer-camp example, are not precise. Use complete sentences and clearer links that explain how each example supports the point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The essay uses enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate its main ideas, including “geographical regions,” “daily routine,” “revisions,” and “retain.” It also attempts less common expressions such as “duration” and “enroll,” but control is uneven, with noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors. Examples include “comman,” “anunnal,” “intrest,” “focous,” and “indulgged”; these distract from otherwise understandable points. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “explore nature” when the intended idea is travel and exploration, and “get on track easily.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and choosing natural combinations, for example “take courses,” “develop their skills,” and “return to their studies.” Greater precision would make the vocabulary more effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “as,” “whereas,” and “when,” and the main meaning is generally clear. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in sentence boundaries, agreement, and verb forms. “Which supports them with knowledge” is a fragment, while “if students goes” and “shorter school holidays comes” have subject–verb agreement errors. The conclusion also shifts between plural and singular forms in “shorter school holidays helps.” Punctuation sometimes creates run-on or awkwardly joined sentences, as in “Such as swimming…” following a full stop. To improve, make each sentence grammatically complete, check that verbs agree with their subjects, and use punctuation to separate examples from the main clause.
