Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions: the first body paragraph explains benefits such as relaxation, family visits, and learning new skills, while the second gives concerns about forgetting lessons and working parents’ childcare needs. These points are relevant, but they are mostly listed rather than explained with specific examples or fuller reasoning. The conclusion begins to summarise the benefits and drawbacks, but it is cut off at “manage their jo,” so your final position is not completed. The response is also 245 words, five words below the required minimum; the 14 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each main point and finish the conclusion to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Additionally,” “However,” and “As a result” help signal the relationship between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several points are joined mechanically rather than developed in a logical sequence. For example, the discussion moves from forgetting lessons to final results without explaining the connection in detail. The unfinished final sentence also disrupts the overall ending. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each explanation directly to its main point, and complete the conclusion so the essay feels finished.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “relaxation,” “historical cities,” “recall,” and “working parents.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “a long assessment” where you mean a long break, “a long break chance,” “the whole slybus,” and “visitng.” “The beauty and nature of world” is also an awkward expression. These errors sometimes obscure your intended meaning, which limits the effectiveness of your vocabulary. Build a bank of accurate phrases for school holidays and check spelling and word forms carefully when proofreading.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea with “When the students come from the long break” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence formation, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “This eassy discuss” has an incorrect subject–verb form, while “a lot of lesson has been forgetten” has problems with number and verb construction. The sentence “Additionally, a long break chance to learn…” is also missing a clear grammatical structure. Practise building complete sentences with accurate subjects and verbs, and check agreement and articles before submitting.
