Student answer (Band 5.0)

This is completely true that in summer ,primary and secondary schools are closed for two to three months in vecation. There is importance of these long holidays.

In one pcture,it is good for the students because they can feel relax during these holidays and also feel relax from the busy schedule of school life.Students are very happy during these days, offenly they are visiting their relatives house. These are actually such good days for the sudents. They always try to complete their work in first days of holidays and want to enjoy other days.

But there are also some students who try to increase their abilities and skills in thees days. Some students does not waste this opportunity of holidays, they just joined different acedmies and other centres to boost their knowledge. These days are the best opportunity for such intellegent students to increase thier knowledge and skills.

Actually ,if we discuss about its pros and cons there are not more disadvantages over advantages.Everything has two picture,so we cannot decide anout it.

My favour about short days holidays is that yes it should be little less than two month and to fix it on 1.5 month.Because we also discuss about the students who take the advantages of these days.It is also good to enjoy these days, and also have ability to improve their playing skills.I think government should also provide some usefull activiities n these days.

To conclude that,it is enogh for students about 1.5 month for both enjoyment and improve their skills. Many of students take advantages of this opportunity and some also waste these days in just playing games and doing other activities. So we cannot neglect its pros over cons.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: you describe benefits of long holidays, including rest, visiting relatives and developing skills, and you state a preference for reducing the break to about one and a half months. However, the response only partially develops the task. The value of long holidays is mostly presented as a list, and the case for shorter holidays is not clearly explained: the proposed duration is given, but there is little discussion of why a shorter break would be better for students or schools. The position is also difficult to follow in places, especially in “we cannot decide about it” and the conclusion’s comparison of advantages and disadvantages. Explain each main point with a reason or example, and make your view consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from benefits of long holidays to a preference for shorter ones and then a conclusion. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression between ideas is limited, and several points repeat rather than build an argument—for example, the benefits of enjoyment and improving skills appear in more than one paragraph. Linking phrases such as “But,” “Actually,” and “To conclude” are used, but some connections are unclear, particularly “Everything has two picture, so we cannot decide about it,” which does not clearly lead to the following opinion. Organise each paragraph around one clear point, then explain how it supports your answer. Use references and transitions that make the relationship between ideas explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a range of topic-related words, including “busy schedule,” “abilities and skills,” “opportunity,” and “advantages.” These help communicate the general subject and show attempts to express ideas beyond very basic vocabulary. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, such as “vecation,” “offenly,” “sudents,” and “intellegent.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “feel relax,” “joined different academies,” and “increase their knowledge.” Learn accurate forms and collocations, and choose vocabulary that states the intended meaning precisely—for example, distinguish between relaxing, improving skills, and attending classes. Proofreading for spelling would also make your ideas easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both short statements and longer sentences, and the reader can generally identify your main points. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and attempts to combine ideas often contain frequent errors. Examples include “There is importance of these long holidays,” “Some students does not waste,” and “it should be little less than two month.” These show problems with articles, subject–verb agreement, and singular/plural forms. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, with missing spaces after full stops and commas, while some sentences join several ideas without clear structure. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” or “although.” Check agreement, articles, and plural endings during revision.
