Student answer (Band 6.0)
Schools in many countries give long summer holidays to primary and secondary students because of harsh weather in summers. During hot weather it is beneficial for students to stay indoors instead of roaming around in heat because in hot weather the chance of heat stroke increase. However, long holidays can have detrimental impacts on a student academic performance.
In South Asian countries like India and Pakistan summer is very extreme the temperature reached it peak with a hot burning sun that could result in heat stroke thats why many school provide long summer holidays to students so they can stay safe at home. For example, at primary and secondary our school use to provide us two month long vacations and the parents were instructed to keep the children indoor for protection gainst extreme weather. It provides students with an opportunity to relax and spend summer in the comfort of their home with their families. The schools also provides summer task to the students so their studies won't be neglected during this break.
However, despite having various advantages summer holiday pose substantial negative impact on students academics. For example, childern become too relaxed and spend most of their time enjoying and playing instead of balancing it with their studies. As a result, post summer break they face difficulty and perform poorly in post vacation exams. In the present time, during the summer break young generation spend most of their time on social media which not only impact their studies but also negatively effect their overall upbringing because social media these days provide them easy access to immoral content.
In conclusion, I believe summar vacation provide students time to relax and protection aganist hot climate, however, during this time period students should balance their studies with fun and avoid using too much social media.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions and maintain a clear overall view: long holidays offer protection from extreme heat and time to relax, while shorter breaks could reduce the academic disruption described. The examples from India and Pakistan and your own school experience make the benefits concrete. However, the response develops the value of long holidays more fully than the case for shorter ones. The disadvantages paragraph explains learning loss and social-media use, but it does not clearly set out how shorter holidays would help—for example, by keeping learning routines consistent or reducing the need to relearn material. Develop that comparison and support the claims about academic effects more specifically.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on the benefits, a contrasting paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. The progression from extreme weather to relaxation and then to academic concerns is easy to follow. Linking expressions such as “However,” “For example,” and “As a result” help show relationships between ideas, and the conclusion returns to the main points. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. To improve further, make the connection between the disadvantages and the task’s proposal of shorter holidays more explicit, and avoid abrupt shifts, such as moving from exam performance to social media without explaining their relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss the topic, including “detrimental impacts,” “substantial negative impact,” “extreme weather,” and “opportunity to relax.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and some less common expressions are attempted. However, several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision: “temperature reached it peak,” “protection gainst,” “summer task,” and “summar vacation” are examples. Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “overall upbringing” when discussing the effects of social media. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and proofread spelling; this will make your vocabulary more controlled without requiring unnecessarily complex words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because,” a contrast introduced by “However,” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in both sentence structure and basic forms. For example, “the chance of heat stroke increase” needs subject–verb agreement, while “the temperature reached it peak” has an incorrect pronoun and verb form. There are also errors with articles, plurals, and agreement in “The schools also provides.” Work on checking each sentence’s subject and verb, and practise accurate past-tense and present-tense forms. More consistently accurate sentences would strengthen the range you already attempt.
