Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many countries, primary and secondary institutes close for eight weeks or more in the summer holidays. It is the time of renovation of buildings of schools and also the temperature changes in different countries effects the students health but the drawback is students feel very easy even do not touch their books during summer vocations.
On the one side, the institutes close for the duration of two months in summer because during this time the management authorities renovate the buildings of schools, its also useful for the students to stay at home and save themselves from the hot temperatures. For example in pakistan there is too much high temperature which causes different types of heath issues for the students like heat strock etc. It is also a positive apportunity for the students to get this period seriously and revise all the previous lessons on daily basis at home.
On the other side, according to my point of view Government should cahhnge this shedule from two months to 2 weeks and also should start the hybrid clases as well. If the respective authorities take this matter seriously and make good decisions in the sector of education, it will be very useful for the students of pakistan and if all countries make policies accordingly they also got benefit. For example the government makes the policies like hybrid clases and one day clas and one day holiday in summer and also provide different kinds of other facilities like air conditioning it will help to shorter the summer holidays which will made positive affacts.
In conclution, hybrid clases is much better then the summer holidays it will help to continue study whole the year, long holidays make students to much lazy and they loss their learning skill that they already learned.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions by explaining the benefits of long holidays, including building renovation and protection from extreme heat, and by arguing for shorter breaks with hybrid classes. The Pakistan example gives your discussion some relevant support. However, the value of long holidays is not fully balanced: revising lessons is mentioned, but the explanation of how a long break benefits students remains brief. Your position in favour of shorter holidays is apparent, yet the proposal to change the schedule to two weeks and use alternating classes is not explained in enough detail, and some claims—such as students becoming lazy—are generalised. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “On the one side” and “On the other side,” and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the two sides of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear because several ideas are joined together without showing how they relate. For example, the first body paragraph moves from renovation to avoiding heat and then to revising lessons. The second repeats “if” constructions and shifts between government policy, hybrid classes, and facilities. Use clearer topic sentences and organise each paragraph around one main point, with linking phrases that show cause, contrast, or result rather than relying mainly on repeated signposting.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “renovate,” “hybrid classes,” “temperature,” and “facilities,” so the main ideas can generally be understood. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make the writing less clear, such as “heath strock,” “apportunity,” “affacts,” and “vocations.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “feel very easy” and “shorter the summer holidays.” Aim to learn accurate collocations for education and holiday policy, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you distinguish the benefits of a long break from the practical arguments for a shorter one.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including conditional structures such as “If the respective authorities take this matter seriously…” and a relative clause in “which causes different types…”. However, complex sentences are often difficult to follow because clauses are joined without reliable grammatical control. For example, “It is the time of renovation of buildings of schools and also the temperature changes… effects the students health” has problems with clause structure and agreement. Other examples include “students feel very easy even do not touch their books” and “it will help to continue study whole the year.” Work on sentence boundaries, subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns. Building accurate short sentences first will make your longer ideas clearer.
