Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yeah there are so many countries where there are so many days of summer holidays,it is only due to the extreme hot weather because it has a strong effect on the health of people specially for the kids as it plays a crucial role in the illness of people as dehydration occurs due to sweat

It is good to give holidays in summer according to my point of view,if students don't go to school in summer for a long time but there's not any issue regarding their education because holidays comes with the summer packs in school in which children have to do their work either it is relevant to activities or it is of all the stuff that is and will be including in there syllabus or upcoming papers as well

But to some extent only the effect of summer holidays in school is just because students don't stay in touch with their teachers and teachers cannot help them out as they can help them in their physical classes

Thr good thing about summer holidays students feel relaxed and energetic, they have no burden or pressure of the specific timing, whenever they want to do their task they can, they enjoy freely, they go out with their friends, roam all over the streets, play cricket or other kind of sports as well and it helps them in building their bones and body sound and strong. Moreover, they have so much time so that they can spend with their family, they make plans with their families in the holidays to visit Murree,Swat,Kalam etc as it is the best weather and time as well to visit these places and enjoy the little bundle of joy with their families.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give relevant reasons for long summer holidays, including relief from heat, time to relax, sports, and family trips. The examples of visiting Murree, Swat, and Kalam make the discussion personal and specific. However, the response addresses the two questions unevenly: it explains the value of long holidays, but gives little detail about the arguments for shorter holidays. The point that students may lose contact with teachers could support shorter breaks, yet it is not developed into a clear argument. Your position is also not consistently stated. To strengthen the response, explain both sides directly and support each with a clear reason or example, such as improved learning continuity during shorter breaks.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response moves from the reason for summer closures to holiday work, then to possible disadvantages and benefits. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “But to some extent” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because several different points are packed into very long sentences, and paragraphing does not clearly separate the two parts of the task. Some connections are also unclear, particularly the shift from students’ contact with teachers to the benefits of relaxation. Use distinct paragraphs for the value of long holidays and the case for shorter ones, and make each paragraph develop one main idea with clear links between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “dehydration,” “burden or pressure,” “physical classes,” and “syllabus,” and the place names add specificity. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, which sometimes makes the meaning harder to follow. For example, “the illness of people as dehydration occurs due to sweat” is an awkward way to describe heat-related health risks, while “building their bones and body sound and strong” is not a natural collocation. Aim for more precise academic expressions and avoid repeating general words such as “so much time” and “good.” The suggestions below offer more natural alternatives for some of your wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to express connected and complex ideas, for example by using clauses beginning with “because,” “if,” and “as well.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and many sentences contain frequent errors that can make the reader work to understand the meaning. In “holidays comes with the summer packs,” the subject and verb do not agree; “children have to do their work … including in there syllabus” also has problems with clause structure and reference. Several sentences run on without clear punctuation, especially the long sentence beginning “The good thing about summer holidays.” Practise separating ideas into complete sentences, checking subject–verb agreement, and using commas and full stops to mark clause boundaries.
