Student answer (Band 4.5)

In world most countries, primary and secondary schools off during for two months or more then two months in summer holidays. So, what are the advantages and disadvantages of lon term and short-term school holidays that are briefly described.

First of all, much and more holidays are not better for education because without education the world can never gain high benefits and progress will be low. Students can never learn more scientific and nor getting and seeking knowledge. So, fewer holidays are enough for these circumstances.

On one hand,If schools remain closed for long and short periods of time on the basis of that area where is weather is harsh or season is much hot than normal temperature or the season is much cold than normal body temperature then at this time.

On other hand, schools give shorter holidays if there is no other harmful conditions and these would led to big progress of the world.

Further more in areas of world there are gangsters are they are kidnapping the children during evening time o during in morning time. This time educational institutions locked their doors.

Moreover, if smog remains for longer periods in some part of the world and it causes eyes irritation and severe problems in humans.

Beyond this, the world peace is very disturbance especially in asia countries and the children are the wealth for their parents and future of that country. At that time schools locked for longer time.

Conclusion longer cut off schools look the current situation of the reion of that country and shorter holidays will brought better progress in the study.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response makes a general attempt to discuss long and short school holidays, and it offers potentially relevant considerations such as extreme weather, smog, and safety risks. However, it only minimally answers the two specific questions. The value of long holidays is not clearly explained, while the case for shorter holidays is reduced to the broad claim that they bring “big progress” in education. Several points describe reasons schools might close, rather than explaining the benefits of long holidays or arguments for shortening them. The opening also reframes the task as advantages and disadvantages without establishing a clear, sustained position. To strengthen the response, explain each side directly and develop points with a clear cause-and-effect explanation or a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt to organise the response with an introduction, body paragraphs, linking expressions such as “First of all,” “On one hand,” and “Moreover,” and a conclusion. These features show an effort to guide the reader. However, ideas are not arranged in a coherent progression: the discussion moves from education to weather, crime, smog, and regional conflict without clearly connecting these examples to the two questions. The contrast markers are also confusing, since “On one hand” and “On other hand” do not introduce clearly opposed arguments. Some sentences end abruptly or leave relationships between ideas unclear. Group the discussion into one paragraph on the value of long holidays and another on the case for shorter breaks, using links that accurately show how each point supports the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “scientific,” “knowledge,” “smog,” “kidnapping,” and “educational institutions,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is basic and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate enough to strain understanding. Examples include “much and more holidays,” “world peace is very disturbance,” and “longer cut off schools.” Repetition of “holidays,” “schools,” and “world” also limits precision. Aim to use familiar words accurately before attempting more complex expressions, and choose vocabulary that states the intended relationship clearly. For example, describe how a break allows students to rest or how shorter breaks may help maintain learning, rather than relying on vague phrases such as “big progress.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer conditional or explanatory structures, such as the sentence beginning “if schools remain closed.” However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and frequent errors sometimes obscure the intended meaning. Examples include “schools off during,” “where is weather is harsh,” and “these would led,” which show problems with verb forms, sentence construction, and agreement. Several sentences are incomplete or joined in ways that make their structure difficult to follow, particularly the long weather sentence and the final conclusion. Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, as in “On one hand,If.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check verb forms and agreement; shorter, accurately controlled sentences would make the ideas easier to understand.
