Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often argued that long school hoildays are more beneficial and some people believe that short school holidays are more useful. While there are different perspectives on this issue, I firmly believe that short term holidays are more significant because the students spend more time in education, as its benefits are more significant than its potential drawbacks.

One of the most compelling reasons for this is that the school that maintain their scedule are more getting their position. Take an example of school of chemistry at London, once his director attributed his success due to give extra time to school. This clearly demonstrate that a short term vacation are enough from a hectic routine.

Another equally important consideration is that long holidays play an significant role in doing work according to their own will. This can significantly contribute to investigate their one's skill. For example, a survey was conducted in China regarding the holidays, then most of philosphor gives vote to have long holidays. Therefore long term plays a crucial role in a student self bringing.

In conclusion, although the long term holidays should not be overlooked, because of its benifit. I strongly believe that in school a student remains under a professor supervision. He seeks more and can get help if he face a difficult situation. It aslo leads to creativity and professonal skill. but on the other hands, long term holidays breaks continuty. To sum up, I believe that small holidays might be more advantageous and helpfull for well being of a student.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear preference for shorter holidays in the introduction and conclusion, and you attempt to discuss both the value of long breaks and reasons for shorter ones. However, the response only partially fulfils the task because the arguments are limited and often not explained clearly. The claim that shorter holidays mean students “spend more time in education” is relevant, but the example about a chemistry school in London is difficult to understand and does not show how extra school time benefits pupils. The point that long holidays allow students to pursue their own interests is relevant, yet its value is not developed. Explain each side with specific, credible examples and make the comparison between the two options clearer.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, so there is some basic organisation. Linking expressions such as “One of the most compelling reasons,” “Another equally important consideration” and “In conclusion” signal the intended structure. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because ideas within paragraphs are not consistently connected or fully explained. For instance, the chemistry-school example is followed by a conclusion about a short vacation without a clear link, while the China survey does not clearly support the point about students’ independent interests. The conclusion also introduces supervision and creativity abruptly. Build each paragraph around one clear claim, explain its relevance, and use references and transitions that make the relationship between sentences explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “hectic routine,” “supervision,” “creativity” and “professional skill,” and you use phrases such as “compelling reasons” to introduce an argument. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear, as in “getting their position,” “student self bringing” and “short term vacation are enough.” Spelling errors such as “hoildays,” “scedule,” “philosphor,” “benifit” and “helpfull” are also noticeable. Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, describe students as “maintaining academic progress” or “developing their interests independently,” rather than relying on unclear expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the opening contrast beginning “While there are different perspectives” and the sentence starting “although the long term holidays should not be overlooked.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “the school that maintain their scedule are,” “This clearly demonstrate,” and “a short term vacation are enough,” where agreement and sentence construction are problematic. Articles, plurals and punctuation also need attention, as in “an significant role” and the lower-case “but” after a full stop. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and complete, correctly punctuated clauses.
