Student answer (Band 4.5)
School holidays are very inportant for students beacyse that is break for students to refresh there minds .In many countries people go to meet there greand parents in there holidaye who are not living with them.
my take on this is very clear in my countery the school give give summer work for summer holidays, so every student have to work on there summer assigments in theses holidayes its a funn activity for students that keep them enggeg with there studies .and in this way students are not be able to waste there time in holidays .but on the other hand i just feel like we should not burdnise our students with so muvh work so that are not able to enjoy there holidays we should give them some fun activites that can incresss there learning skills amd in many countries there is no summer assigments for students that is not so fair, i feel like techers should guive them samll taslk for the holidays for the shoul;d gave them holidays for short time like only for 2 weeks .so they can attend school early and start there learing again and complet there courses . the younger genration is going to be our future .We should take some majoer takes to support the eduction.if we will ytake some serious steps today that are going tpo vhnage our future tommorow .we going to be responsable fpr there future .so make some good decision for them is our responsiablity to-words them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both questions to some extent: you mention that holidays let students “refresh their minds” and visit grandparents, and you discuss shorter breaks as a way to return to learning and complete courses. However, the response only partially answers the task. The value of long holidays is not explained in much detail, and the case for shorter holidays is mixed with a discussion of summer assignments rather than developed through clear reasons and examples. Your position is difficult to identify because you support holiday work but also argue for shorter holidays without explaining how these views fit together. The response is also one word below the required minimum. Develop each question separately and support your main points with specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is some relevant progression: the response begins with benefits of holidays, moves to summer assignments, and then considers shorter breaks and students’ future education. However, ideas are not arranged coherently enough for the reader to follow the argument easily. Most of the response is one long paragraph, and the extended sentence beginning “but on the other hand” contains several different points without clear boundaries. Connectors such as “and,” “but,” and “so” are repeated, while the relationship between assignments, holiday length, and learning is not always clear. Use separate paragraphs for the value of long holidays, arguments for shorter holidays, and your conclusion. Shorter sentences and clearer referencing would make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “refresh their minds,” “summer assignments,” “learning skills,” and “complete their courses.” These phrases show an attempt to discuss education and holiday activities. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling errors make the writing difficult to read, for example “inportant,” “greand parents,” “enggeg,” and “eduction.” Some word choices are also unclear or unnatural, such as “burdnise our students” and “make some good decision for them.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “academic progress,” “family relationships,” and “structured activities” would help you explain the benefits and drawbacks more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas using longer sentences and clauses, for example the sentence beginning “but on the other hand,” which shows an effort to express contrast and cause. However, sentence structures are very limited in control, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation sometimes make meaning hard to follow. Examples include “every student have to work,” “students are not be able to waste there time,” and “we should give them holidays for short time.” Several ideas run together without full stops, particularly in the middle of the response, so it is difficult to see where one point ends and another begins. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with correctly formed clauses and consistent punctuation.
