Student answer (Band 5.0)

In a many countries, every schools close for few months and provide holidays to student,in that particular time students can enjoy their holidays by spending time with their family, going on trips and other fun activites such as continuing any sports. In this essay will discuss both prespectives.

It is often argue that school holidays plays vital and crucil rols in students lifes.Student feel stress and exhuaste after attending school for 9 months straight and they are impatient for summer and winter vocations. In holidays they can learn differents skills which can help them in future such as sports, technological, languages and digital skills.students can go to visit different palaces to explore differents cultures and traditions which they cannot able to do without getting days of from schools. Vocations allows students to spend time with their parents and creat bond with them. Students can relax with any stress of school work and classes.

On the other, there are few disadvantages of long holidays from school, some people believe that school shoul not close for long time and school holidays should be for short period, so student will not loose interest in studies and stay connect with studies.Long holidays can make students careless and they start forgetting what they had learned in previous classes.I believe that holidays should not be for short period because students already attended school for 9 months so it their right to have long holidays.Althought, long holidays has several advantages but the disadvantages are more significant.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: the first paragraph and main body explain benefits such as rest, family time, travel and learning skills, while the final paragraph gives reasons for shorter holidays, including retaining interest and remembering schoolwork. However, the response is under the required 250 words, and this limits how fully the ideas are developed. The arguments are mostly listed rather than explained with specific examples; for instance, you say students can learn “digital skills” or explore cultures, but do not show how holidays make this possible. Your position is also unclear: you argue that long holidays are a right, then conclude that their disadvantages are more significant. State your view consistently and develop each side with a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on the value of long holidays, and a paragraph presenting arguments for shorter breaks. This helps the reader identify the two sides of the task. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, as several benefits are placed in a list without clear grouping or explanation. Linking is also sometimes mechanical or unclear: “On the other” does not smoothly introduce the opposing view, and “Although” is followed by a conclusion that does not clearly connect to the preceding contrast. Use topic sentences to guide each paragraph, then connect reasons and examples with clear references and transitions. A separate, concise conclusion would also make the overall progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “vital,” “stress,” “skills,” “cultures and traditions,” and “interest in studies.” These choices help communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear or natural, such as “vocations” for school holidays, “palaces” where you likely mean places, and “crucil rols.” Some phrases are also awkward, including “stay connect with studies” and “creat bond.” Aim to learn accurate collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions such as “retain academic knowledge” or “strengthen family relationships” would help you explain the arguments more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a sentence beginning “Although,” and you communicate the general meaning despite errors. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence structure, agreement, articles and punctuation. For example, “In this essay will discuss” lacks a subject, while “school holidays plays” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. In “students can go to visit different palaces … which they cannot able to do,” the verb pattern is faulty. Commas are often missing after introductory phrases, and several sentences run together. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a complete structure and correct agreement.
