Student answer (Band 5.5)

A long summer break has been designed by the both early and higher education system in variuos countries. Whereas, by providing the whole two months holidays could have adversed effects on children education. On the other hand, While offering the short break after every term would encourages students to be more attentive in sports, performance and other activities.

By keep away the children from schools for long term divert the students minds from education to other activities. So that their interest shifts from education to the early labour or juvenile activities. In Nepal, goverment had develop the strategy to introduced child labour so they had starting summer break for two monts. In a conclusion the childres started working in early age and dropped out from schools. And eventually, the literacy rate went down and labour ratio rocket.

However, most of the educational institutes are encourages students to indulge in the studies whie providing shorts breaks after every 4 months. This phenomenon leads the children brains more attentive in studies, helps them performing well in sports and other extracurricular activities. For examples to increase the literacy rate in any country schools and vocational centers are allowed to children for participating in different workshops and other activites that boost the mental and phisical capabilities and when returning to schooling they were become more efficient and confident.

In the end, a very long summer breaks evidentaly impact the negative affects and small amount of holidays have quite a lot more benefits. In my opinion, i firmly think that every educational institution should promotes a stategy where after the of end of every term few days off would be given and make the children more productive.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions and give a consistent preference for shorter breaks, especially in the conclusion. You also attempt to explain the value of long holidays by linking them to child labour and school dropouts, and you mention benefits of shorter breaks for study and extracurricular activities. However, the discussion is only partial: the long-holiday paragraph mainly presents a negative consequence rather than explaining the value of such holidays, and the claim about Nepal is unclear and insufficiently supported. The advantages of shorter holidays are also asserted more than developed. To strengthen the response, explain a genuine benefit of extended holidays, such as rest or family time, and support each main point with a clear, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the contrast between long and short breaks gives it a basic overall structure. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the Nepal example moves from a government strategy to child labour and then literacy without clearly explaining the links. Connectors such as “Whereas,” “On the other hand,” and “However” are used, but some are awkwardly placed or do not express the relationship accurately. References such as “This phenomenon” are also vague. Improve cohesion by giving each paragraph one clear central idea, then developing it in a logical sequence with precise linking phrases and explicit references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “juvenile activities,” “literacy rate,” “extracurricular activities,” and “mental and physical capabilities,” which helps communicate the subject. There is also some variety in how you describe educational outcomes. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “children,” “studies,” and “activities,” while several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning less clear. For example, “adversed effects,” “labour ratio rocket,” and “shorts breaks” are not natural expressions in this context. Spelling errors such as “variuos,” “goverment,” and “monts” are noticeable. Build precision by learning common collocations for education and holidays, and proofread spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening and clauses beginning “By keep away…” and “when returning to schooling.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “the both early and higher education system,” “would encourages,” “most of the educational institutes are encourages,” and “every educational institution should promotes.” There are also problems with articles, plurals, verb forms and sentence boundaries, as in “In a conclusion the childres started working…” Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and checking tense consistency. Shorter, controlled sentences would help you express the cause-and-effect links clearly before adding more complex clauses.
