Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many countries, primary and secondary schools closed for two or more months in the season of summers for holidays which allows students to complete their summer packs and to enjoy their vacations as well.
On one hand, The value of long school holidays are that it allows students to relax their mind and to enjoy their vacations with family and friends. It allows you to reduce the pressure that you take in all semester, securing good grades in your despline. Summer is the season in which you have hot weather which cause difficultly in doing daily life activities. Sever sweating , breathing issues , migriane issues due to heat and dehydration. Long holidays in summers saves you from heat strike , health issues in peak month of summers. Giving Summer packs make sure that you are doing your education and vacations together in a adaquate manner.
On the other hand, Some arguments are in favour of short holidays that their should be shorter summer holidays. Shorter holidays makes your vacations last for shorter time in which you will feel relax and go back to school and continue your regular routine of school. Eduaction is very crucial, which makes you better person and allow you to build a secure future. Many people spend all their education chasing their dreams and have strong focus on education rather than having fun or long summer holidays.
In conclusion, the value of long holidays are more valunerable than shorter holidays. In my prespective, The school should give you eductional home-work so that you will enjoy your holidays but at the same time your are learing.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions and give a clear overall preference for long holidays, especially through the points about rest, family time and avoiding summer heat. The discussion of shorter holidays also includes a relevant argument: students can return to their routine and maintain focus on education. However, these ideas are mostly asserted rather than explained or supported with specific examples. The claim that long holidays protect students from heat-related problems could be developed by explaining how school conditions or local temperatures affect them. The case for shorter holidays is less fully explored, and the conclusion introduces educational homework without showing how it resolves the contrast between the two holiday lengths. Develop each main point with a reason or example and make the comparison more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signposted by “On one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This makes the overall arrangement easy to follow. Within paragraphs, however, progression is sometimes uneven. The first body paragraph moves from relaxation to grades, then heat-related symptoms and summer packs, without clearly showing how each point connects to the main argument. Some linking and reference are also awkward, such as “it allows you” after referring to holidays, and the conclusion repeats the preference without summarising the two sides. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting detail explicitly to the paragraph’s central idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “pressure,” “secure future,” “dehydration” and “regular routine,” and you attempt to discuss both wellbeing and education. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, for example “despline,” “migriane,” “heat strike,” “valunerable” and “learing.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “in the season of summers” and “enjoy their vacations together.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. Repeating “holidays,” “education” and “summer” is understandable, but using precise alternatives such as “school break,” “academic progress” and “high temperatures” would make the discussion clearer and more varied.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including “Summer is the season in which you have hot weather” and the relative clause “which makes you better person.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. For example, “The value of long school holidays are” should use a singular verb, while “Shorter holidays makes” needs a plural verb. The fragment “Sever sweating, breathing issues…” is not a complete sentence, and “their should be” misuses the possessive form. Practise building complete sentences around one main idea, then check subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation.
