Student answer (Band 6.0)
In developing countries, schools and colleges remained close for vacations, especially for more than two months. Most students spend these vacation in a highly productive manner, by engaging themselves in curricular activities. Thus, long vacations bring disadvantages and advantages as well. On other hand, these vacations help students to get rid of hectic routines and schedules, which played important role in bringing relaxation and calmness to the students. One of the benefit is that most students would prefer and took admission in training centres, which would help them in their brain development. Alongwith this, students would have gone for other options like joining the computer and technology-related courses, which would be helpful for improving their skills. Furthermore, by learning such courses would help them to choose their major in the future as well. Subsequently, parents also encourage and motivate their children towards these e-learning platform, which would be beneficial for their children.
On the other hand, most students show irresponsible behaivour toward their studies and become lazier in these vacation. For example, students don't pay attention towards the studies and their home tasks, which were assigned by the institute. As a result, students lack interests in their studies and become careless during these vacations. Moreover, children don't listen to their parent, which make them stubborn, and would become difficult for the parents to handle them. In order to prevent such behaivour of students, I would suggest that there would be shorter holidays, which won't be exceeded more than two months. Otherwise, long holidays can effect the behaivour and studies of the students.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions and present relevant points: long holidays can provide rest and time for courses, while shorter breaks may reduce disengagement from schoolwork. The examples of technology courses and assigned homework help make the discussion concrete. However, the value of long holidays is developed more fully than the case for shorter holidays, which is mainly framed around students becoming lazy or stubborn. The opening also refers to developing countries and colleges, although the prompt concerns primary and secondary schools generally. To strengthen the response, explain more fully how shorter breaks could support learning—for example, by reducing the loss of knowledge over a long summer—and develop a clear, balanced position on the benefits of each holiday pattern.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: the first section discusses possible benefits of long holidays, and the second turns to disadvantages and shorter breaks. Connectors such as “On the other hand,” “Furthermore,” and “As a result” make the direction of the discussion easy to follow. Some links are mechanical or do not express the relationship precisely; for instance, “Thus” introduces a contrast between advantages and disadvantages, while “Subsequently” does not clearly show why parents’ encouragement follows from the previous point. The opening also combines several ideas before the main discussion is clearly established. Use topic sentences to signal each paragraph’s central claim, and choose linking phrases according to the exact logical relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “hectic routines,” “training centres,” “technology-related courses,” and “irresponsible behaviour.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and some less common expressions are attempted. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “curricular activities” where extracurricular activities seem intended, “in these vacation,” and “effect the behaviour.” Spelling errors in “behaivour” and “Alongwith” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations and precise terms, such as “take courses,” “lose interest in their studies,” and “affect students’ behaviour.” Proofreading for spelling and checking collocations would make your vocabulary more effective and reliable.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “which,” “as a result,” and “in order to,” and the overall meaning is generally clear. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with verb forms, agreement, articles, and plural forms. For example, “schools and colleges remained close” uses an unsuitable verb form, “these vacation” has a number-agreement problem, and “which make them stubborn” does not agree with its subject. There are also awkward constructions such as “by learning such courses would help them,” where the sentence lacks a clear grammatical subject. Practise building sentences around a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and tense consistency when revising. More accurate control of these patterns would make the complex sentences easier to read.
