Student answer (Band 5.0)
Around the world, many educational institute closed for more than 60 days due to summer vocation.
There are two types of holidays first one is short holiday and another one is long holidays both have different effects on student we will discuss it here.
The holidays plays important role in social life like the longer school holidays is very important for the youngers to spend most of their time with families and to learn and understand their parents.
In most countries summer season is last for more than 2 months, due to temperature rise in some areas the school remain closed to avoid heat stroke and heat related health problems. In summer vacation most of the school arranges summer camps and scouts for thier student to explore world and learn new things practically.
The shorted school holidays have some pros and cons, like students were exposed to sun and heat in summer when they going to school which affects children health and sometimes they get bored going to school for the whole year without experiences any practical life scenario.
I am agrees with long school holidays because in my school we spend our holidays in nathiagali to learn new skill and to explore mountains and beauty of the nature which is almost impossible in the shorter school holidays.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the topic and give a clear preference for long holidays, supported by your experience of visiting Nathiagali to learn skills and explore nature. You also mention family time, summer heat and school camps, which are relevant benefits. However, the task asks for the value of long holidays and arguments in favour of shorter holidays; the latter are not really explained. The point about students being exposed to heat argues against shorter holidays, while boredom is mentioned without showing how shorter breaks could help. Your ideas therefore remain limited and under-developed, and the response is 33 words below the required minimum. Develop both sides explicitly, explain each reason, and add a relevant example before concluding.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: you introduce the topic, discuss long-holiday benefits, mention shorter holidays, and finish with your own view. This gives the reader a basic route through the response. However, progression is not consistently clear, and the second body paragraph does not clearly present arguments in favour of shorter holidays. The opening says “we will discuss it here,” but the essay does not then establish a clear structure for comparing the two positions. Linking is also limited, with ideas often joined by “and” or placed together without explanation. Use separate, focused paragraphs for each side, and connect claims to their explanations with clear transitions such as “By contrast” and “This is beneficial because.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “summer camps,” “heat stroke,” “practically,” and “explore,” which helps communicate relevant ideas. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “heat related health problems” and “practical life scenario.” However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make the writing less natural, including “summer vocation,” “youngers,” “shorted,” and “thier.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “learn and understand their parents.” Aim for accurate collocations and a wider range for discussing educational benefits and drawbacks. Proofreading spelling and choosing more natural expressions will make your meaning clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, for example the sentence beginning “In summer vacation” and the final sentence describing your own experience. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “many educational institute closed,” “The holidays plays,” and “I am agrees,” where agreement or verb forms are incorrect. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: the opening paragraph joins ideas without adequate punctuation, and there is no space after the full stop in “problems.In.” Practise forming accurate subject–verb combinations and complete sentences, then check articles, plurals and punctuation. More controlled complex sentences would help you explain reasons and examples clearly.
