Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: the first body paragraph gives possible benefits of long holidays, such as preparing for entrance exams and learning practical skills, while the second presents concerns about screen use and inactivity. However, these ideas are brief and sometimes unclear, and the conclusion does not fully resolve your position: you recommend “one months” of holiday but do not explain why this is the right balance. The response is also 40 words below the 250-word minimum; the 13 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. This limits the space available to explain and support your points. Develop each argument with a clear explanation and a relevant, specific example, and state your view consistently.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “on the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the two sides of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: several points are added without showing how they connect, and the examples do not always clearly support the preceding claim. Linking phrases such as “In addition” are repeated, sometimes awkwardly, and the conclusion introduces a recommendation that has not been developed earlier. Organise each body paragraph around one main argument, then explain it and give a directly relevant example. Use referencing and transitions more selectively to make the relationships between ideas clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “entrance exam,” “practical skills,” “smartphones,” and “bad habits,” so the main topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make meaning unclear, such as “the distraction of the negativites,” “accessiblw,” and “lead their health.” Spelling and spacing errors, including “primany,” “aswellas,” and “Inaddition,” also reduce accuracy and polish. Aim for more precise phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the risks as “excessive screen time” or “exposure to harmful websites,” and use natural collocations such as “develop practical skills” and “prepare for entrance examinations.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the contrast between the two body paragraphs is clear. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “most of the students are utilize” combines incompatible verb forms, while “children follows” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. In “parents teach them to make work,” the sentence pattern is not formed correctly, and “one months” has a number-agreement error. Punctuation and spacing around sentence openings also need attention. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, then add one dependent clause at a time; this will help you express more complex ideas without losing clarity.
