Student answer (Band 5.0)
In many countries primary and secondary schools close for two months or more in the summer holidays. It makes the students healthy and fresh their mind. But, some people large school holidays effect the students learning so, shorder school holidays are better for students.
On the one hand, some schools are close for two months or more in the summer holidays. Students do many activities in this period that make him active and healthy. Some students go in trip with families and explore many new places. Furthermore, in holidays students must partcipate in many games that is also important for students mind and body. For Example, when i was a student i spend my all holidays in my grand parents home. I live in city with my parents but my grand parents live in rural areas. So, in summer holidays i feel enjoy in my grand parents home.
On the other hand, students have very bad effect on learning due to large holidays. Many students spend their all holidays in geting enjoy. They are not get study during this period. As a result, they have not remeber all the leasson that they learn on school. That's why shorter school holidays are best for students because it not effect the students learning and students also feel relax. Students also do trip in shorter school holidays so in shorter holidays they get all type of fun.
In conclusion, in many countries primary and secondary schools give two or more months of vacation to students but, it effect the students learning. So shorter school holidays are good for both students and their learning.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions: the first body paragraph explains how holidays allow family trips, games and time with relatives, while the second argues that shorter breaks may prevent learning loss. Your personal example about visiting your grandparents is relevant. However, the discussion is limited and several points are asserted rather than explained—for example, you say students “have not remember all the lesson” without showing how this affects their progress or how shorter breaks would help. Your position favouring shorter holidays is present, though the opening and conclusion could state it more clearly and consistently. The response is 243 words, seven words below the 250-word minimum; the 27 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop each argument with a clearer explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two sides of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several links are mechanical or inaccurate, such as “But” and “So” in the opening and repeated use of “students” and “holidays.” The personal example also moves through several short statements without smoothly showing how it supports the value of a long break. Use clearer links between cause and result, and organise each paragraph around one main claim followed by explanation and evidence. This would make the overall argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “summer holidays,” “learning,” “activities,” “games,” and “rural areas.” The personal example also gives some variety beyond general claims. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to understand: “make him active,” “go in trip,” “geting enjoy,” and “feel enjoy” are examples. Spelling errors such as “shorder,” “partcipate,” and “remeber” are noticeable. Aim to learn common phrases for discussing education and leisure, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain learning loss and the benefits of rest without repeating the same basic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a result clause in “As a result” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “some schools are close” should use a passive form, while “I spend my all holidays” needs an appropriate past-tense verb and word order. In “students have not remeber,” the verb form is also incorrect. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise building accurate sentences with past and present tenses, and check subject–verb agreement and articles before adding more complex clauses.
