Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is true that, primary and secondary schools close for longer period specially during summer holidays. While some people prefer long vacation for children growth, other believe shorter holidays aslo plays an effective role in students academic development.
One the one hand, there are several benefits of long holidays. Firstly, pupils have some time to relax and learn something new besides there regular study routine. They can explore different things and make a good habits. For example, when i was in middle school, during the summer holidays i used make painting and read fictional novel books. Thats not only helps me to do some creative and peaceful but also encouraged me to spend my time more meaningfully. Another advantage is parents and children both can have some quailty time together. In normal days both of them have busy life, therefore they often didn't get the chance to know ench other. Additionally, families also can visit to their hometown and meet relatives. This will strengthen their both with relatives and children can learn the importance of social relationships.
On the other hand, some individuals prefer short holidays. The main reason is students often forgot their lessons they have tought before in long vacations. So many peole suggests that a few days off will be much better becouse they have the chance to relax and aslo they will remember the lessons. Moreover, shorter holidays make students to become more motivated towords study after unwind their mind in this vacation. Consequently, shouter holidays is advantageous for parents who do private jobs, because sometimes componay doesn't allow them a long holidays.
In conclution, both short and long holidays have their own benefit. Where long holidays improve students personal interest and relationships, short holidays is beneficial for many families and students who are lacking in studies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions and present a balanced position: the first body paragraph explains benefits of longer breaks, while the second gives reasons for shorter ones. The personal example about painting and reading illustrates how holidays can support interests beyond school, and you also mention family relationships and students forgetting lessons. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that shorter breaks make students “more motivated” needs a clearer explanation or example, and the point about parents’ work schedules is brief. The conclusion summarises the contrast, but “students who are lacking in studies” is not developed as a distinct reason. Extending these less-developed ideas would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress in a sensible order, and examples are placed with the points they support. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent arrangement and also shows some stronger control through paragraphing and clear contrast. However, linking is occasionally mechanical, with repeated “Firstly,” “Another advantage,” and “Moreover,” and some references are unclear, such as “This will strengthen their both with relatives.” The conclusion’s “Where” construction also makes the relationship between the two sides awkward. Use more precise referencing and vary transitions while keeping the logical progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “summer holidays,” “academic development,” “relatives,” and “social relationships.” There are also attempts at less common expressions such as “meaningfully” and “creative,” although some combinations are inaccurate or unclear. Noticeable spelling and word-choice errors include “quailty,” “peole,” “becouse,” and “shouter,” while phrases such as “fictional novel books” and “private jobs” are not natural in this context. These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they limit precision and fluency. Build accuracy by learning common collocations for education, leisure, and employment, and proofread spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “While,” “because,” and “therefore,” and most of the argument remains understandable. Some grammatical errors occur across the response, particularly with agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “other believe” should use a plural subject with the verb, and “students often forgot their lessons they have tought before” needs a clearer relative clause and consistent tense. The sentence beginning “Thats not only helps me” also has an incorrect verb form and an incomplete construction. Work on checking subject–verb agreement, tense consistency, and clause boundaries; these corrections would make your varied sentence attempts more controlled.
