Student answer (Band 5.0)
There is a concern about multiple nations giving long summer vacations for primary and secondary school children. Which can provide them much need rest, break, family time and attend summer camp. Although there are arguments in favour of this the counter argument for small vacations can be students schedule will not break and extracurriculum can be incorporated in fromal education with ample of time to spare for it.
The benefits for long summer hoildays are that it helps children rest mentally, get a long awated break from the hectic studies and exams, spend time with family, and gives them a chance to attens summer camp or learn new musical instument. This will eventually boost there recovery and growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify relevant benefits of long holidays, including rest, family time, summer camps and learning an instrument, and you briefly mention a case for shorter breaks: keeping students’ schedules continuous and allowing extracurricular activities to be included in formal education. However, the response addresses the task only partially. The value of long holidays is listed rather than explained, and the arguments for shorter holidays receive only one brief, unclear statement. There is no developed comparison or supporting example, and the response ends without a conclusion. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words, leaving too little space to develop both parts. Explain how each benefit matters and support the shorter-holiday argument with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening introduces the issue, and the next paragraph focuses on benefits of long holidays. The ideas within that paragraph are grouped sensibly as a list of possible benefits. However, the overall progression is incomplete: the argument for shorter holidays is compressed into the introduction and is not developed in a separate paragraph, while the response stops without a concluding statement. The opening sentence beginning “Which can provide them…” is a fragment, and “Although there are arguments in favour of this” does not clearly connect the two sides. Use one paragraph for each question, link ideas with clear references, and finish by summarising your view.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “summer vacations,” “hectic studies,” “exams,” “summer camp,” and “musical instrument,” so the reader can understand the general subject. There are also attempts at less common expressions such as “incorporated” and “ample,” but some combinations are inaccurate or unclear, as in “incorporated in fromal education with ample of time to spare.” Spelling errors such as “hoildays,” “awated,” “attens,” and “instument” are noticeable, and “small vacations” is not a natural way to describe shorter school breaks. Build a more precise range of collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your ideas easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and a more complex contrast, particularly in “Although there are arguments in favour of this…”. However, the range is limited, and complex structures are not consistently controlled. “Which can provide them…” is a sentence fragment, while “the counter argument … can be students schedule will not break” lacks a clear grammatical structure. In “it helps children rest … spend time … and gives them,” the list does not maintain a consistent pattern. There are also errors in possessives and agreement, as in “students schedule” and “This will eventually boost there recovery.” Practise complete sentences, parallel lists, and accurate possessive forms, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
