Student answer (Band 6.0)
Schools and colleges get summer breaks for two or more months once in a year all around the globe. There are difference in opinion on whether these holidays should be prolonged for the children as they utilize these holidays to develop skills along with protecting them from hot weather. While other favors the shorter holidays because schools taught student discipline along with time management skills.
Individuals who favor long vacations believe that the temperature during those summer months are very high which can effect the health of students. In some countries temperature during those specific months exceed 50C that is quiet high for school going students. They also argue that these summer break gives opportunity for college students to build their CV by learning new skills. For example, CS student can learn new computer coding language which help them securing scholarships in university.
In contrast, people who favor short breaks have an opinion that school teaches students discipline. Longer breaks make students very lazy. They argue that school going children wakes up on time, eats on time, and go to bed on time. They believe that school is a great place to learn time management skills which is crucial to survive real world. For example, test that occur rapidly in school trains them to finish their assigned task on time in office work.
In conclusion, I believe long summer breaks should be preferred as health comes first in any scenario whether it is utilized to build the future or it is used to learn new skill. Temperature is high enough to effect the health of an individual so we should avoid sending are kid out of the house.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions and state a clear preference for long summer holidays in the conclusion. The reasons are relevant: high temperatures may affect students’ health, while breaks can give students time to develop skills; the opposing view links shorter breaks with discipline and time management. Examples such as learning a coding language and completing tasks on time help illustrate these points. However, some ideas are more fully explained than others. The claim that long breaks make children “very lazy” is asserted rather than supported, and the coding example shifts to college students even though the task focuses on primary and secondary schools. Develop the school-age examples and explain more precisely how each benefit supports your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two viewpoints, and a conclusion that returns to your preference. Contrast markers such as “In contrast” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and examples are placed alongside the relevant arguments. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some stronger control through paragraphing and logical sequencing. To make the flow more consistently smooth, improve links between claims within paragraphs and avoid abrupt shifts—for instance, the first body paragraph moves from heat-related health concerns to college students’ CVs without explaining the connection. Some references, such as “these holidays,” could also be made more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “summer breaks,” “discipline,” “time management,” “develop skills,” and “health.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “build their CV” and “survive real world,” but some choices are inaccurate or unnatural and reduce precision. Examples include “quiet high” for “quite high,” “effect” where “affect” is intended, and “school taught student discipline,” which is not idiomatic. Repetition of “breaks,” “students,” and “believe” also limits flexibility. Build a more reliable range of collocations and check spelling and word forms; this will make your arguments sound clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which is crucial to survive real world” and a conditional-style explanation of the benefits of holidays. The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Subject–verb agreement is inaccurate in “the temperature … are very high” and “children wakes up”; articles and plurals are also inconsistent in phrases such as “learn new skill” and “school going children.” The opening sentence, “There are difference in opinion,” has a number-agreement error, while “avoid sending are kid” confuses “our” and “are.” Review agreement, articles, and plural forms, then proofread each sentence. More accurate control of these patterns would strengthen the range you are already attempting.
