Student answer (Band 5.0)
Many people are arguing that long term holidays can increase benefits for students physical actvity and they will learn more in holidays specially summar beacause most of the students will go for campings. However, others are believe that short time vacations can more advantages then long.
To begin with, primary and secondary schools of many countries are prefer long time vacations because they want to start new batches in summay in that mean time school managment prepare their syllabus for the new undergraduates which helps them to enhance their economy and also they set fees structure and schedule for new session. Nevertheless, most countries are not agree with their decision. For instance, in pakistan more then 7 months primary and secondary schools are on vacations not only in summer but also 10 days of december. So, these long term holidays can save the enormous amount of money.
On the other hand, some countries are thinking about shorter school holidays. They believe that short shcool vcations are more relaible then longer because students spent more time in their field related subject and they will learn more in schools. However, people of well developed countries are thinking that students should spent time with their teachers where then can learn and aware about incoming new tachnology instead of staying at home in holidays are at any picnic. Lets say, when I was at 10th grade I saw one studnet who come regularly and he was extremly sharm minded he spend most of time in school with books then school regim had promoted him next grade. I also believe in that kind of thinking.
All in all, long shcool holidays are beneficial for countrys economy and their management to reduce electricity bills and salaries of their employees. shorter holidays can enhance students thinkin ability, skills and improve their behaviour in society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions by discussing possible benefits of long holidays and reasons for shorter ones, and you give a personal example from your time in Grade 10. However, the response only partially fulfils the task because the value of long holidays is not explained clearly: the opening mentions camps and physical activity, while the first body paragraph shifts to schools’ finances and preparation for new batches. The claim that long holidays save money is also not clearly connected to students’ value from the break. Your position is difficult to identify, as the conclusion lists advantages of both options without indicating which arguments you find more convincing. Develop each side with a clear explanation and a relevant example, then state your view consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “All in all” help signal these sections. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. For example, the first body paragraph moves from starting new batches to syllabus preparation, fees, and electricity costs without showing how these points connect to the value of long holidays. “Nevertheless” introduces disagreement, but the following example does not clearly support the contrast. Some references, such as “that kind of thinking,” are also vague. Organise each paragraph around one main reason and use clearer links between the claim, explanation, and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “physical activity,” “syllabus,” “fees structure,” and “incoming new technology.” This shows an effort to discuss education and school schedules, but the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the meaning less clear. Examples include “reliable” for describing shorter holidays, “sharm minded” for a shy student, and “school regim” for a school routine or system. There are also repeated basic terms such as “long holidays,” “shorter holidays,” and “students.” Aim for accurate topic-specific collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would help communicate your ideas without requiring the reader to infer what you mean.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “when,” but complex sentences are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to make some ideas difficult to follow. For example, “others are believe” has an incorrect verb form, and “students spent more time” does not maintain the intended present-tense pattern. Subject–verb agreement is also inconsistent in “schools … are prefer” and “students should spent.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention, particularly in the long sentence beginning “However, people of well developed countries…” where several ideas run together. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause before adding more complexity.
