Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this eassy i will discuss the reason ans sloution in the upcoming paragraph.

To begin with, there are several reason in which the first and foremost is longer schools holidays are very valuable for students and teachers. To explain it, after stressed or tired becouse of the study presure the longer holidays gives them rest and releave thire stress. Beside this, they can focuse on another things while the academics like camps or sports also improve thire skills acording to thire hobbies. For example, an articale was published in the tribune in 2017 which decline that 43.3% students were participants in many competitions which was related to thire hobbies. Thus, that the reason way students are more energable or less stressed after holidays and better concentrated in thire studies.

In contrast, longer holidays are better for students but for parents if burden for thire time or budget. becouse most of the time parents have no time to spend with thrire child. In another words, most of the familys are doing jobs or works so they are not avaliable for thire childrens on thire holidays. For instance, in holidays they have to plan some trips or vacations with thire kids ⁷and becouse of it they also ask for holidays on thire works places and this is the bourden of thire parents couse some time they cannot be affordit. Hance, its is not same for parents or students.

In conclusion, the longer holidays are more relaxable for students or staff becouse they have a time to rest and gives time to other things. While the parents have quite challangable to handle this periods secially whos doing a work. So shorter holiday is better for both.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: the first body paragraph explains how longer breaks allow students and teachers to rest and pursue hobbies, while the next discusses the pressure holidays can place on working parents. These are relevant points, and the example about students taking part in competitions gives some support. However, the response only partly fulfils the task because the case for shorter holidays is not clearly explained as a school-calendar argument; it is presented mainly as a difficulty for parents. Your position also shifts: you describe long holidays as valuable, then conclude that shorter holidays are better for both, without explaining this judgement. Develop the comparison and make your final view consistent with the reasons given.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion. The contrast between student benefits and parental difficulties is a useful organising idea, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “In contrast” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first paragraph moves from rest to hobbies, then to a statistic and a conclusion without fully connecting the evidence to the point. Several linking phrases are inaccurate or repetitive, including “Thus, that the reason way” and “In another words.” References such as “this periods” are also unclear. Use simpler, accurate transitions and make each paragraph develop one central point step by step.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “stress,” “competitions,” “hobbies,” “budget” and “concentrated,” so the main ideas can generally be understood. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “first and foremost” and “participants.” However, the range is limited and many spelling and word-choice errors make the writing difficult to read in places: “eassy,” “sloution,” “releav[e],” “challangable” and “energable.” Some combinations are unnatural, for example “the longer holidays gives them rest” and “ask for holidays on thire works places.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. Reusing a smaller set of correctly chosen words would be more effective than attempting phrases whose meaning or form is uncertain.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a contrast introduced by “While.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, sentence construction and articles sometimes make the meaning hard to follow. For example, “the longer holidays gives them rest” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “after stressed or tired” is not a complete grammatical construction. The sentence beginning “In contrast, longer holidays are better for students but for parents…” is also incomplete or unclear. Punctuation and sentence boundaries need attention, particularly where several ideas are joined together. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time and check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
