Student answer (Band 6.0)
As we see in different countries school often close for long term, especially in summer break they give two to three months holidays. These large break have some benefits for both childrens and parents in term of avoid hectic routine and spend time with parents while small break also have few advantages like stay connected with learning and less time to attract toward unethical activities.
The major edge point is students reduce stress after a whole year busy routine and give some time to their brain to relax. In addition, all these caused by these issues, everyday they wake up in morning and start to ready for school and take their breakfast and just go to school. Students aften have very difficult curriculum which already put a lot of burden on nerves additionally daily homework and lesson for memorise also participate in it. Furthermore, no time to take part in sports and physical games. For example, in my school i have seven day busy routine and so many books to study that why i did not get any time to go out with my family for some fun or any tour thats why these long holidays often play major role to overcome all these issues with the solutions such as tour with family and participate in games like cricket, table tennis and others.
On the other hand, short holidays are also necessory because students not forget their previous lessons and stay engage in continuous learning because when childrens came back to school after long break they are blank. Then teachers need to repeat all lectures again this consume huge time. If they have short break with in year like off for few days after one to two month in result they are fresh and have not any stress which affect their learning.
In conclusion, stress is the one of the prominent issue which resolved by summer holidays as well as help to participate in extra curicular activities. However, connection with study also required which would possible by short off from classes so balanced approch will contribute to gain both solutions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both questions and maintains a relevant overall position: long holidays help students recover from pressure and spend time with family, while shorter breaks can preserve learning continuity. The examples of school workload, family outings and teachers needing to revisit lessons support these points. However, the value of long holidays is developed more fully than the case for shorter holidays, which is largely limited to avoiding forgotten lessons and saving teaching time. The claim that shorter breaks reduce stress is also asserted rather than explained. To strengthen the response, develop this second side with a specific example or further consequence, and clarify how a balanced holiday schedule would work.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on long holidays, a contrasting paragraph on shorter holidays, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “In addition,” “Furthermore,” and “On the other hand” helps readers follow the main shift in argument, and the conclusion returns to the central balance between rest and learning. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger progression. However, links within sentences are sometimes mechanical or unclear, particularly “In addition, all these caused by these issues,” and the long example in the second paragraph combines several points without clear breaks. Use clearer topic sentences and divide extended sentences so each supporting idea has a distinct role.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response uses enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate its main ideas, including “curriculum,” “burden,” “continuous learning,” and “extra curricular activities.” It also attempts some less common expressions, such as “prominent issue,” though several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the meaning less clear. Examples include “large break,” “edge point,” “blank,” and “attract toward unethical activities”; spelling and word-form errors such as “necessory” and “childrens” are also noticeable. These issues fit a limited but usable range rather than precise, flexible control. Build accuracy by learning common collocations for education and holidays, and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
There are attempts to use both simple and more complex structures, including a conditional idea in “If they have short break … they are fresh” and a relative clause in “which already put a lot of burden.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries recur. For example, “These large break have” has a number-agreement problem, while “when childrens came back … they are blank” shifts tense and has an unclear construction. The long sentence beginning “For example, in my school…” is difficult to follow because several clauses run together. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement and tense consistency.
