Student answer (Band 5.5)

In many countries schools closed for lot of time period for summer holidays. There are a lot of benefits for students. With this lesuire time they are planning to do some extra activities. Some times lot of students are waiting for this holidays. Beacuse it may be a opportunity for them to learn new things. They get long time period to release their stress. Also they get a break from their busy study schedules.

Most of students visiting there grandparents at this summer holiday. Sometimes they visited to country sides and get some wonderfull experiences for their life while living there. Although students are joining for clubs or social groups to do charity works and gain experience. Also they may get a chance to help their parents house hold such as a farming or flowering. Due to busy life schedule may be parents do not get more time to be with their family but beacuse of this summer holiday they get time to spent with their childrens. As a example in sweden they are organizing summer camps for students. In these camps there are lot of activities for both parents and students. It will improve the bond between family. It is a big opportunity for both of them.

But sometimes parents cannot get leaves or time for their childrens, in these situations long holidays may be a burden for parents. beacuse they did not have much time for their childrens also they have to spend more money for caretakers. Sometimes childrens get hurt because of lack attention they at this holidays. Furthermore, may be students loss memories of the syllabus due to long time holidays. Teachers has to start build them again with the studies.

In conclusion, according to my view there are lot of benefits and disadvantages in both view. As a student i think long summer holidays are necessary for students. Beacause they can experinece new things in that time. Also they get some opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and maintain a clear preference for long summer holidays in the conclusion. The benefits are relevant: students can pursue activities, rest, visit relatives and gain experiences, while the paragraph beginning “But sometimes” gives reasons for shorter breaks, including childcare costs and forgetting school content. However, the case for shorter holidays is less fully developed than the benefits of long ones, and some points are unclear—for example, the claim that children “get hurt” is not explained. The Sweden summer-camp example supports the family-bond idea, but its relevance to the value of long holidays could be made more explicit. Develop each main argument with a clearer explanation or specific example, and make the comparison between the two positions more balanced.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs on benefits, a paragraph presenting drawbacks, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the main direction of the argument. You also use linking expressions such as “Although,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion.” However, connections are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For instance, “Although students are joining for clubs” does not form a complete contrast with the preceding sentence, and repeated “Also” openings make the progression feel list-like. Some references, such as “both of them,” require the reader to infer who is meant. Group related benefits more deliberately, use transitions that show the precise relationship between ideas, and ensure each paragraph develops one clear focus.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “stress,” “busy study schedules,” “charity works,” “caretakers” and “memories of the syllabus.” These choices help communicate several relevant ideas. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “time,” “students” and “opportunity,” while a number of spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “lesuire,” “Beacuse,” “wonderfull” and “loss memories.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “release their stress” and “help their parents house hold.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and more precise terms—for example, describe students as “relieving stress” or “retaining what they have learned.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would make your meaning clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “Although” and a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “Due to.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “schools closed” where a present-tense general statement is needed, “Most of students visiting,” and “Teachers has to start.” The sentence beginning “Sometimes childrens get hurt” also lacks a clear grammatical connection between the children and the stated cause. Practise forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, tense consistency and singular/plural forms. More accurate control of these patterns would allow your varied ideas to come through without distracting the reader.
