Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argued by people if long holidays are more suitable for students as the make summer peacefull or shorter than make them engage with studies. In my point of view, i prefer a long vacation in summer beacuse it gives time to students for their personal development.
On one hand, people beleive that a long term vacation in summer is very beneficial for students becuse it give them time for extra curiculum activities and self growth. for intance in america parents took their children on mountain sides and guide them how to deal with shortage of electricity and teach them how to climb a mountain, and other stuff of natures. It gave them a sense of real life difficuilty and maturity, that help them in their practical life.
On the other hand, people thought that long vacation is a time waste for students as they bound their child with studies and never focus on their physical and mental growth. For intance nowdays in Pakistan the students that make top in thier university have little practical experience how to deal with real problems and deal with people., this is all beacause of study presure and no friends.
vonclusion, long term holidays in summer are very important for childenrsn to explore the world i would also prefer a long term break that make children happy , freash , cheerful, ready for their practical life and aware of their surroundings.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear preference for long summer holidays and offer relevant reasons, including personal development, outdoor activities and practical experience. However, the task is only partly addressed: the value of longer holidays receives an example, while the case for shorter holidays is not clearly explained. The paragraph beginning “On the other hand” mainly criticises study pressure and lack of practical experience, rather than showing why shorter breaks could benefit students, such as maintaining learning routines or reducing knowledge loss. Several ideas are asserted without enough explanation, and the conclusion repeats your preference rather than weighing both sides. The response is also 12 words below the required minimum. Develop both sides with specific reasoning and examples, and ensure the response meets the stated length.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “On one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic structure, and the examples are placed alongside the relevant points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion of Pakistani university students does not clearly connect to an argument for shorter holidays, and the conclusion introduces several benefits without developing them. Linking phrases are limited and occasionally do not express the relationship accurately. Improve cohesion by making each paragraph’s main claim explicit, then explaining and illustrating it in a logical sequence. Clearer sentence boundaries and more precise references would also help readers follow how each example supports the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “personal development,” “practical life,” “physical and mental growth” and “practical experience.” These phrases show an attempt to discuss the issue beyond basic statements. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to read, such as “peacefull,” “beleive,” “becuse,” “difficuilty” and “study presure.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise, including “make summer peacefull,” “mountain sides” and “other stuff of natures.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for the two positions would help you explain the benefits of long breaks and the case for shorter ones.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example, “because it gives time to students for their personal development.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement and punctuation. Examples include “as the make,” “it give them time,” and “parents took their children … and guide them,” where the subjects and verb forms do not agree consistently. Some sentences run together, particularly the final paragraph, while missing sentence boundaries and commas make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use a small range of complex patterns reliably—for example, clauses with “because,” “although” and “which.” Proofread for capital letters and full stops as well.
