Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover all three visuals and identify several key features accurately: adults aged 18–64 form the largest membership group (51%), adult and children’s fiction each account for 38% of loans, and children’s DVDs are the smallest category at 1%. You also note the overall fluctuation in loans. This meets the task well, with some evidence of the more selective overview expected at a stronger level. However, the trend is only broadly described: the graph rises from about 15,700 in 2007 to around 21,700 in 2016, with a peak at the end, rather than simply fluctuating. The claim that 2016 had the most loans and 2007 the fewest is accurate, but the intervening pattern could be reported more clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for membership and loans. This makes the main topics easy to locate. However, progression within the overview is weakened by sentence fragments such as “While the lowest number of members were elder individuals” and “Whereas the least loans were taken by children’s DVDs.” The repeated transitions “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “At the last number” make the listing feel mechanical, and the final paragraph moves from loan categories to the yearly trend without a clear transition. Grouping related figures and using clearer links—for example, separating the category shares from the time-series trend—would make the organisation more coherent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing the visuals, including “fluctuated,” “highest,” “lowest,” and “non-fiction,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “elder individuals,” “on the second number,” “loan takers,” and “the number of loan takers were most.” There are also spelling errors in “childern’s” and “chidren,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for standard chart language such as “members aged 65 and over,” “the second-largest group,” and “loans reached their highest level.” More precise vocabulary would improve clarity without requiring unnecessarily complex wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex forms, including “While the lowest number of members were…” and “In all other years number fluctuated,” but control is uneven. Several sentences are incomplete: “Whereas the least loans were taken by children’s DVDs” has no main clause, and “At the last number were elder individuals with 12%” is awkwardly constructed. Agreement and sentence formation also need attention in “the number of loan takers were most” and “More than half individuals were adults.” Use complete clauses and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and plural forms. For example, “The number of loans was highest in 2016” is a clearer grammatical pattern. Greater accuracy in these structures would make your comparisons easier to follow.
