IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The presented charts offer various information regarding a public library situated in the town of Little Chalfont.

Overall, library readers were divided into four different age groups, where over half of them was adults. Apart from this, loaned books were also in seven separate category, while the loaned numbers fluctuated throughout the period from 2007 to 2016.

In 2007, number of loaned books started at approximately sixteen thousand, where its started to increase until 2011 and to more ups and falls. Ended with the highest number of around twenty three thousand in 2016. Following, the two most chosen genre in mortgage books 2016 was children's fiction and adult fiction occupying little more then a three quarter combined. Whereas, children's DVD with the smallest amount of 1% besides young adults. Finally, the majority of the reader in 2016 was adults aged from 18-64, ranked before the children with a little over fifth.
