IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The charts illustrate the details about a public library in a city called Little Chalfont.
Overall, the city categorized by various age and total number of loans taken for each category from 2007 to 2016. The category was showed by ages and what purpose they took the loan.
Initially, the members in age between 18 to 64 are visiting more to the library in rate of 51% and 22% of children which is below the age of 13. But the Age between 13 to 17 and over 65 are having a slight difference in the percentage of 12 and 15 who are the members to the library. The loan which have taken for borrowing items in library are categorized by items and age group. There are four categories which have same percentage of two different totals that are children's and adult fiction are taken 38% of total loans and Young adults and Adult audio books have a same percentage of 2%. Moreover, the remaining categories are taken very less loans, they are 6% in Children's non-fiction, 1% in Children's DVDs and 13% in Adult non-fiction items.
Secondly, the total numbers of loans which have taken in the year between 2007 and 2016 have a fluctuation in bar chart. The highest loan was taken around 21,000 in the year of 2016 and the lowest loan was taken around 16,000 in the year of 2007. The bar shows from 2007 to 2011, the loan had a slight leap but in 2013 the total number of loans drop and again have a growth in 2016.
Finally the children and adult have a highest and lowest rate of total loan in the year 2007 and 2016.
