Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have successfully identified the main features of all three charts. You provided a clear overview of the age groups, loan categories, and the trend over time. However, the response lacks a cohesive 'overview' paragraph that synthesizes the data effectively; instead, the summary is fragmented. While you mention the highest and lowest figures, the comparison between categories could be more analytical. To improve, ensure you group related information more logically and provide a more distinct summary of the overall trends rather than just listing individual data points. The task is addressed, but the depth of analysis is somewhat limited.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. For example, phrases like 'The charts and data illustrates' and 'Last but not the least' are used in a formulaic way. The transition between the description of the pie chart and the table is abrupt. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the progression of ideas flows more naturally from one sentence to the next without relying on repetitive sentence starters.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information, such as 'senior citizens', 'categories', and 'approx'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For instance, using 'ratio' to describe percentages is technically incorrect; 'proportion' or simply 'percentage' would be more appropriate. Additionally, 'The charts and data illustrates' contains a subject-verb agreement error. To improve, focus on using more precise terminology for data reporting and ensure that your word choices are contextually accurate. Expanding your range of synonyms for 'increase' and 'decrease' would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'The charts and data illustrates' (subject-verb agreement) and 'there are total four categories' (missing article). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of semicolons and commas. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency of the text. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, and try to incorporate more varied complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
