Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all three charts, identifying key features and making comparisons. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For instance, while you mention the highest and lowest categories, you do not always clearly link the data to the specific years or categories in a way that makes the trends easy to follow. The overview is present but lacks a clear synthesis of the most significant trends across all three data sets. To improve, ensure that your overview highlights the most striking differences or patterns rather than just listing individual data points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each focusing on a specific chart. There is a clear progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'While' and 'Furthermore' to start sentences. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the third paragraph where the connection between the data and the categories could be smoother. The flow between sentences is generally functional but lacks the sophisticated linking required for a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information, using terms like 'proportion', 'fluctuation', and 'inclined'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'recorded at biggest proportion' instead of 'accounted for the largest proportion' and 'made up stability'. Some phrasing is repetitive, and there is a lack of more precise, academic vocabulary that would elevate the response. Focusing on collocations and more varied reporting verbs will help improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('adults and children has highest figures') and article usage ('the number of loans highest taken'). There are also issues with prepositional usage and sentence fragments. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring consistent verb tenses when describing past data.
