The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The charts below summarises data pertaining to a public library within a town named Little Chalfont.

Overall, adults aged 18 to 64 made up the largest proportion of library members while senior citizens were the smallest group. Meanwhile, most loans from the library were found to be adult and children's fiction contrasting the very little loans for children's DVDs. Additionally, the highest number of loans occurred in the year 2018, with loans gradually increasing from years 2007 to 2016.

Approximately 51% of people aged 18 to 64 represented more than half of library members. 22% of children accounted for the majority among the remaining of the age groups with 15% of teenagers coming in second. Meanwhile, 12% of adults aged 65 and above formed the minority.

Within the category of loans, adult and children's fiction constituted the most popular type of loans. Adult non-fiction was the second-most commonly borrowed category, followed by children's fiction at 13% and 6% respectively. Young adults and adult audio books only represented 2% of the total loans while children's DVDs came in last place at 1%.

The total number of loans started from roughly 16000 and gradually rose to around 21000 in the year of 2011. After a brief decline that ended in 2013, the gradually climbed to approximately 22000.
