The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The supplied data set illustrates the information regarding a government sector library called Little Chalfont. The charts demonstrate age of the library members, total number of loans over a decade and a distribution of loans during 2016, categorized according to types of books.

Overall, it is immediately apparent that library memberships are mainly occupied by adults and fictional category accounts for significant amounts of loans.

Almost half of the library members are adults of age 18-64 years while the 13-17 years old adults comprises 15 percent of the library membership. On the contrary, library has 22% children and 12% people over 65.

The fictional books are responsible for a significant amount of exactly 78% while non-fictional books are taking about 20%. The rest of the loan capital is distributed among DVDs, young adult books and audio books.

The total number of loan were incrementing from 2007 when they were over 15000 but after 2011 they started to decline and edged down to below 20000. Afterwards, this figure again rose and exceeded 22000 in 2016.
